I know a few people who want tattoos now after watching miami ink, but i dont know if thats the reason to get one. After the popularity dies out, if you got one because it was "cool" you'll most likely regret it....

If you really wnt one go ahead, because you know you'll still love it in years to come.

^ Well I watch Miami Ink and it didn't make me want to get a tattoo, I wanted one long ago, but it did solidify my choice to go for the plunge in the year coming.

Seeing so many people get tattoos, it makes me think "Okay, I can do this!"
I know I see people wince in pain, but it can't be that bad....worse comes to worse....vicodin time

also I see so many really beautiful pieces done on that show and I think, see that could be me...it also helps that I'm a Chris Garber fan and now I want to fly to Miami to get mine

Its a reality show about this tattoo place and its tattoo artists, they have people come in and things like that...

that koy on lotus on carolyn is really nice. I didn't even know she had tattoos... but I guess, Brandon Boyd is tattoed I find usually it starts to influence you to want one.

Actually Carolyn has her tattoe before she met Brandon, thats the beautiful thing, was coincidence the fact that both have the koy on lotus fish...

I think Brandon's tattoes are really really cool

Well in buddahism the koi fish symbolises the all living beings in a state of fearlessness, without danger of drowning in the ocean of sufferings, just a fish swim freely without fear through water.
Brandon and Carolyn surf and have a metaphorical sense too.

It depends where you go and the popularity of an artist. Most tattoo shops have a $50 charge minimum for a tattoo but that can go up for certain artists up to $150 (One artist explained to me because of her popularity she doesn't have time for people who want a tiny simple thing...she does limited requests and prefer big pieces so the higher limit is to hinder people wanting simple ones).

Another artist I know has basic prices for certain subjects (IE- Words, Flowers, Celtic) to give people an idea, but it goes up depending if its intricate details.
A really exclusive one I know charges by the hour and is by appointment/waitlist only.

My mom had a tattoo done thats about 7x3 inches on her lower back of a taiwainese flower pattern with initials in the middle...guy charged her the $50 set minimum.

Hopefully this gives you an idea of what you'll spend in the US.

i have been wanting a tattoo for a while, but im taking my time b/c i want it to mean something to me forever. im very particular, and i want someting behind my ear, the back of my neck, or on my foot. the foot tattoo is actually my favorite kind. any ideas on what i could get, something like daria werbowy's? i wanted something like that before i even saw hers, but now i dont know what to get. ideas or advice?

^thanks, good advice! i was thinking of putting a bible verse in hebrew about the temptations from the serpent to adam and eve. then i could still do it in a serpent snake, but this would mean something importnat to me, since i relate to my religions
