The 4-5 Piece French Wardrobe #10

^J brand corduroy pants? They wore out after one season. The corduroy on the seat area wore down...

Wow, that sounds rather disappointing.
Yup. I have tried some other J brand jeans on since, and the denim (/stretch cotton) is so thin. It is like wearing leggings. I think J brand makes denim for people with 10s or 100s of pairs of jeans, because these people won't realize how fast they wear out.

Doesn't seem right, especially not for the price point.. Do you bike a lot (not that pants shouldnt be able to withstand that)?

BTW, I discovered a site called urstyle that seems to work pretty much like polyvore.

^ Maybe she sits a lot? ;)

It's been so long since I've owned any corduroy that I forget how it wears. I feel like it normally fluffs back up with washing though ...

Well, I was a student...

Betina, I am on urstyle! It is more difficult to use though...

Darn it. How so?

Maybe its the long Summer, but I am really starting to look forward to Fall clothes; knitwear, scarves, boots. Also, I am feeling very drawn towards black and white outfits currently, after wearing a lot of colorful outfits lately. Currently eyeing a zebra print jacket.

It is more difficult to save sets (it takes a long time sometimes), the cutting tool is not great and it is difficult to find items via the site.

Do you have a picture of the jacket?

I am so stressed out with work that I am not looking forward to anything:lol:

Shame. It looked really promising.

Also, I feel your pain - starting full time work has definetely been effective in terms of shopping less. No time.

On the one hand the jacket could be a good statement piece to update my fall wardrobe. On the other hand, it might be a bit too extra for me. It is also available in a light blue floral print.

You bought a home? Or are you renting? Regardless, moving is so much fun (and so stressful!).

We bought our second house, well apartment. We are very lucky and bought our last apartment when the housing market was at its lowest, and now sold it when it's soaring. The new apartment is amazing, sometimes it still feels like I'm in the home of someone with more money than me.

And Betina, a bit extra isn't necessarily a bad thing. Plus, since it's black and white zebra is pretty much a neutral, isn't it?

You guys get me! :flower:

@Fewormany: Congrats on the new apartment - that sounds awesome! Living the high life ;)

I guess the jacket is somewhat neutral ( colorwise, at least ;) ) but I am trying not to buy anything that I cannot wear for work and couldnt quite decide if this was one of those pieces. I am starting to think that it could work, thinking it would be great over a black or white dress.

^ I don't see why not ;) You could also put it with black trousers/black pumps.

My new shoes remind me of a zebra ...

I guess I'm just really conservative when it comes to work wear. Come to think about it, I do love me some stripes, and zebra = stripes, so maybe I'll be good ;) Didn't think about the reference re your shoes, but definetely see it, now you mentioned it.

____________

We pretty much skipped the late Summer temperatures that we usually get here. Feels like we went from the hottest Summer in a lifetime and directly to Fall. I was thinking that I would hold on putting my Autumn wardrobe on my clothing rack and my Summer clothes in storage until sometime mid-September, but I might do it already next week.

Best August ever.

Not sure I aggree. I'm freezing even though it is almost 20 degrees outside, and right now it is raining cats and dogs!

Currently squatting over a heater, and I have no idea what you are talking about:wink:

Random ramble ahead..

For some odd reason I feel like I should buy work pants..

My only pair of pants (started out writing paInts - Freudian slip much?) that I wear currently are a pair of distressed Levi's. I don't really like wearing pants and I can dress perfectly appropriate wearing a dress or a skirt. I do have some tops that don't get a lot of wear since I am mostly wearing dresses and they dont go well with the few skirts I have, but still I suppose that getting a skirt or simply stop buying separates would be a better option.
