I wore a skirt yesterday, that I have now put in the "for sale"-box. It is a short, sequined skirt which I have only worn a few times since it tends to relocate from the place where it should be, to somewhere ABOVE my bottom. After walking around for an entire day pulling that darn thing down over and over again I decided to finally be done with it. What a relief!

I think that sounds like a good idea Betina. It is very uncomfortable to need to pull your skirt down all the time

I've started photographing and organizing the items I want to sell. It is over 50 pieces. Some I keep in storage at my parents house. My apartment is going to be very cluttered while I try to sell the stuff... I've been ruthless when deciding what goes and what stays if I may say so myself. I can't wait to have my computer back so I can use Excel to count my remaining items I've also calculated that if I post everything seperately, it will be over 100 km of walking to get rid of it all. (Excuse for new shoes?)

I don't know if I mentioned, but I am also trying to not buy any clothes or nick nacks this month. I can't remember the last month I didn't buy anything... My clothing budget has been huge this year

Pink: I think polyvore is extremely usefull to see if all your items harmonize. For me, at least.

^ pink, one thing you could try is the capsule wardrobe concept for fall ... you don't have to get rid of anything necessarily, I just move what doesn't fit in to my back closet. That way you can pull things you need.

Hi! It's been a long since I posted here, although I've been reading everything that you've posted. Hope you're doing great.
Spring is slowly arriving in Buenos Aires and I'm starting to think about the new season's wardrobe. Having my mint green denim jacket and my electric blue sandals as an "inspiration" I decided my color palette is going to be pastel and neutral color with a pop of color (the sandals, of course!). I made a new pinterest board with my wishlist.
The items I really want to have is a pair of sandals in a beige/nude color with a small/medium heel. I would also like to incorporate new short sleeve tees, with some print.
In the last two days I got a new small bag and a white t-shirt that has an detachable embroided collar from Zara. Both as a very good price and versatile!
From bottoms what I would like to have is a pair of blue denim shorts, beacuse now I only have a black pair (and 4 pairs that don't fit me)
I'm not worring so much because I probably will buy this items in October/November, when the heat starts and I realise I need open shoes!

@Eizhowa: my life is too short for being bothered by a skirt! It is excactly that kind of clothes that I will have to avoid buying in the future.

Crazy amount of clothes you have to be put up for sale. I have loads as well, but a lot of it is vintage/highstreet and I don't find it worth my time to try and sell it, so I will have my girlfriends go through it and bring the rest to a swap market/thrift store.

Sounds like a good idea not shopping this month - experiments like the one you are doing teaches you more if you avoid shopping meanwhile, I think.

Betina, I am considering donating some of the less valuable pieces to charity. The cheapest items I am selling are old, but unworn, noa noa skirts. I am not sure they are worth the effort. I still stand to earn a bit by selling only dresses, vintage furs and some leather boots.

My parkacoat from last year looks so worn that even my boyfriend who is quite careless about that sort of things mentioned it. I am not pleased, since it was not cheap and I really liked it and don't buy things with the thought of having to replace them after only one season.

Therefore I am on the lookout for a good, warm winter coat. I do not want a wool coat since I have yet to own one that really kept me warm (winter in Denmark is freezing!). I am contemplating buying a Fjällräven coat since they should be good quality, warm (it is an outdoor/activewear brand) yet still look nice. I will have to try them on first though, so I will see if I can find them in a store during the next months.

The price of them does not go very well with my monthly budget, but I need a coat and I do not want to buy something mediocre and have to buy a new one next year again.

What winter coat do you have and do you have any recommandations for coats similar to what I am looking for?

I know a lot of people who swear by Canada Goose coats to say warm during winter. Not sure if they really are parkas though:/ I like the cut of the long one, but I prefer the color of the short one. What material was your old coat? To be honest, I think our weather is too harsh for cotton in the winter. I think the Canada coats have some polyester in them. I haven't really checked. I just touched one once.

I think it was a cotton polyester blendt. So is the fjällräven coats, but with a higher amount of polyester - I think that will be a strength.

I thought about Canada Goose but they are not really my style. In Denmark I mostly see them on teenagers with Uggs and too much makeup Also, apperently they are huge on the black market - people in Copenhagen are held up and forced to give up their coat So, I don't think I will go there. Thank you though!

Betina, I'm afraid I can't be of much help... our winters rarely go below 10ºC (positive) and never below 4ºC, so a Zara coat always did the trick for me but I do hope you find something that you love, that lasts, and above all, that won't be stolen for the black market

That would never do the trick for me! Winter in Denmark is cold and every since I lost weight I am freezing constantly.

Thank you for your wishing well's though. I also hope not to be held up at gunpoint and forced to give up my jacket

Today I tried on a bunch of clothes I was into and I realized that
1) nothing fit as I wanted it to;
2) my wardrobe is almost at the point I want it to be.
All I need is an extra pair of trousers and a pair of shoes (still didn't check for those - wasn't wearing any socks today...). I would also like a nice cardigan or two that I could wear in the fall. Everything else will be a nice plus.
I did however fall in love with a blazer (that one fit marvelously) but it's a big above my budget right now (didn't make the final cut for that job, after going on four interviews... ouch. Something will turn up)

So quiet here these days. I have been busy due to the semester start and creating of groups for our semester project, but since I have managed to sprain my ancle (by slipping on the floor of H&M, maybe a way for the higher powers to tell me NEVER to set foot there again) I just thought I'd check in.

@Barbaraa: It is so nice when you finally reach a place where you are perfectly happy with what you've got and do not feel the need to add a lot of items furtherly.

What blazer is it and could it be an alternate to the "cardigan" spot on your wishlist? It might be worth the extra splurge.

I haven't done any shopping since I bought the cardigan and haven't felt like it neither. There is nothing I need, only "nice-to-haves". I am planning to make a leather skirt my October purchase but feel fine about waiting.

Also I think I might have put my plans of investing in a bag on hold since I realized that the thought of being able to buy a nice bag, the bag I considered my "dream"-bag", didn't really made me feel psyched and I think I should feel that way about a bag at that price point. I can get on fine with my Bayswater and my canvas tote.

Also I am considering if I should try to dye this leather jacket. I like the colour but I do prefer my leather jackets black and it has started to "wear" and therefore look dirty. I was the black one i wanted all along (for almost 5 years if I recall) and I regularly search for it on secondhand sites. Even though it is a nice quality jacket I do not think it would have a resell value and since finding a black one in my size appears to be difficult, I might as well dye it, right?

Betinapple i really feel your pain. living in canada, i am still not quite used to the -30C winter days and my coats are definitely not appropriate.... i do have a down coat that i use for longer walks and/or skiing but finding something fashionable for day use that also keeps you warm seems practically impossible.

does anyone have any experience with american apparel bags? i haven't bought anything from AA in years.... and even then it was just a tshirt. but i saw this leather bag in there the other day and i absolutely love it. it's simple with just enough interest and will fit my laptop. i'm just not sure about the quality... does anyone know? i guess i'm particularly worried about the stitching where the straps meet the body of the bag.
