The Acne Thread

I got a bunch of free samples of it from Sephora, so I wasn't sure if it was worth a shot or not

I got an aloe vera plant in my garden, i cut a big leaf from it, then a smaller piece and apply some of its gel on my face with my fingertips.
Haven't had a [big] breakout for a week now. I hope it works out. *crosses fingers*

Has anyone tried Murad?

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I have tried their Clarifying Cleanser with very positive results. I'm curious to try their Acne Kit but it looks like the only effective product was the Clarifying Cleanser based on what I've read online. :flower:

ive tired loads of things. but none of them works, some were SOOOOOOOOOO harsh they made my skin worse.

go with a gentle cleanser and toner and maybe a water based moisturiser.

and use cleansing wipes when ur face gets abit oily.

i wanted to go 2 a dematoligist my my parents are both like"ur 13 its normal"

^Me too. My skin is generally pretty well behaved until once a money it goes absolutely crazy. I can't think of anything that'll help more than just a good spot treatment.

I have 3 pimples on my cheek right now, and now they're turning into a big one! It looks pretty ugly and it hurts.

This was supposed to be "once a month" (not money), I don't know where my head was!

Isa, I feel your pain, and all I can say is try not to pick at them! I've just sabotaged myself yet again by scratching at my spots and I definitely regret it. It may be ugly now but it'll take twice as long to heal if you touch them. This has always been my biggest problem.

i taking pills now. some sort of herbal thing. not bad. not long enough to tell if its working

Does anyone have bacne? what do you use?

Mine isn't severe but sometimes I get zits that turn into keloids. :(

Aaarg I have some bacne. I hate it. I usually only get about one or two pimples on my back but they're always big. Sometimes I get a bit of pimples on my chest too.

I'm currently using Neutrogena Acne Body Wash. I just started it last week, so I don't have any big results yet but I think it's working pretty well.

What I've been doing lately to my face I think is helping me. Along with the body wash, I also purchased Neutrogena Acne face scrub. I use it everyday in the morning when I take a shower. The scrub feels so nice and refreshing when I rinse it off. At night, I use the 3-step Proactiv. My face feels much smoother.

Also, what is the best way to get rid of acne scars? I have just a few on my cheeks but I'm starting to get sick of having to cover them up.

^I used to use Neutrogena Acne Body Wash/Scrub a long time ago. I don't remember the results but it probably didn't clear my bacne up completely if I stopped using it. I might check it out again out of curiosity, though. Keep me updated!

I've been using sulfur soap 2x a day every day for like a year now. It helped a lot, but lately I've been breaking out a bit more than the usual one or two.

The best way to get rid of the scars is to exfoliate your skin often and use something like glycolic acid or lactic acid. My esthetician gave me a product containing both of those acids and it faded my scars significantly and kind of helps lessen breakouts because of the loosened dead skin. I'm looking for a cheaper alternative, though, so I think I will try Am Lactin 12% from Walgreens and see how that goes. If it doesn't work I could always try it on the KP I think I am developing on my arms. :/

well i used to and i am still using neutrogena deep clean for normal to oily skin but eventhough i have a regular skin but more to aoily direction made my face so dried that it was hard to smile sometimes i was looking for a better cleanser and i got a sample from chanel cleanser and it made my skin feel so soft and smooth but its about $50 for a really little bottle and i have a high use on cleanser so it wasnt worth it what do u think i should get? i do get pimples but not much usually but when i use some cleanser they make my skin to break out and the one that dont they make my skin so dry that gets that healthy look of it! by the way my mom is a chemist and she knows alot about skins and she always recomends rose water , wet your face with a little of it before going to sleep at night it does magic. what cleanser u recomend for me?:)

what are the alternatives for hydroquinone if we want to get rid of discolouration acne scars and marks?

...other than microdermabrasion and glycolic peels...

i use aveda's balancing infusion salicylic acid acne treatment for that single once a month pimple that i sometimes get. i am not acne prone at all, never have been, and i have never had a pimple last overnight once i treat it with something.

i do, though, get blackheads on my nose because i have large pores. can someone recommend something for me? aside from those biore strips. those are crap, they don't work.
