The Acne Thread

well ive been eating kfc for the last 3 days(my mom bought a bucket of it) and i have about 5 cysts on my face!

well maybe u shouldnt ahve eaten so much.....

ive noticed that if i eat alot of oily food my skin gets oily too. maybe its a mental thing

Because the oily food makes your skin oily.

And sometimes mixing warm water, baking soda, and honey works well as a skin exfoliator.

I think what does it for me is anything with a high GI and soy... Soy is really bad because I'll eat it and hours later I'll feel a cyst under my skin :( It doesn't even have to be a lot... A tiny piece of tofu will do it for me. I don't know why... Something about it mimicing estrogen maybe?

Possibly mingminglei.
Just put your washcloth under super hot water and hold it on the cyst for a little, but not for so long you burn yourself. Sometimes if you dry out the cyst to much, it gets worse.

ah myy god you guys! i have one huge one near my mouth 3 on my cheeks and then on the other side 2 on my jaws and 2 semi-wild on my cheeks!

:(:(:(

oh gees im stressed about going a new school and im getting zits. thnk god its a girl school(no boys to impress phewwwwwwwwwww)

i have one so close to my mouth ic ant put cream on it and one on my cheek and the usual on my forehead and mean my nose.

Can anyone recommend a good homemade spot treatment? I'd like to try something natural on a spot I have on my cheek. It's nothing huge or devastating, and I'm entirely open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Tea tree oil, but that's not homemade.

I've heard toothpaste, but I've never tried it. Everything from lemon, to vinegar, to rose water...there's just too many things.

I don't think it's oily food that necessarily makes your skin oily per say. I heard that it's because you touch your skin with your oily fingers from the oily food.

And I highly doubt people get huge pimple just hours after eating a certain food...well maybe unless they're allergic.

oh plz take my advise/experience adn dont try toothpaste. it does not seal or freeze th zit. it burns and makes the healing time longer.

i have a tea tree oil wash its pretty good.

I read something about Mandelic acid, and now I really want to try it. All the reviews were 4-5 stars, and at $50 bucks, it's worth a try. It's supposed to help with acne, wrinkles, hyper-pigmentaion, and rosascia.

Interesting. Where did you read reviews, and what brands have caught your attention?

Toothpaste is only a short-term fix at best. It's very drying and it'll burn your skin, leaving a scab where the pimple used to be.

Has anyone tried Murad's Acne Complex Starter Kit? I saw it on sephora.com and I'm thinking about trying it. I got a deluxe sample of the Clarifying Cleanser and I'm very pleased with it. I like the tingle upon application and the sample's going a long way because you get a nice lather when you use a small amount.

I have combination skin and my face is almost back to normal thanks to the Murad cleanser. ^_^

I know I'm not supposed to plug other threads, but I've read reviews on acne.org and people have raved about it.

I went to mamalotion.com or something like that and it has it on there.

gosh I have the most sensitive skin ever! I had been on acne treatment for like 5 years, then I stopped, because it just made my skin go crazy! it became all red and ugly. I stopped about 4 years ago, and I'm still recovering from the harsh treatment! and I break out so badly from time to time! I've tried so many things, but everything seems to attack my skin, it makes it go red and sometimes it really hurts!

does anybody have the same problem? or even better, does anyone know any way to help me?

my skins actually been pretty good considering bad it was but now i got so many big break outs everywhere. I have this huge one near my mouth and then ear my jaw. omfg theyre so annoying they just wont die.

Can i say the PROACTIV repairing lotion dries them up pretty fast though! I used it yesterday and i got a head to surface for the one on my jaw and the one near my mouth was smaller and sort of a head surfacing and just had to force it to pop.

I think I have found the HG of acne treatments and it's gentle enough for sensitive skin: boscia Clear Complexion Kit.

I never had skin problems when I was younger but now that I'm in my late twenties (28) my skin has been breaking out (especially in the chin/jaw line area). I've noticed that I tend to breakout when my skin is dry and when I use harsh products. After reading reviews on a ton of products I decided to go with boscia because it was gentle, preservative-free, and free of harsh chemicals. All I can say is WOW! After using it for a couple of days my skin is less red and irritated and no new pimples have erupted. I really think a lot of people who suffer from acne could benefit from this system. The only thing I added to the system was boscia Recharging Night Moisture because it didn't come with a night moisturizer which I think is important.

Good luck :flower:

thanks for the tip! I think I'll give it a try, although it's quite expensive if there's only enough for 30 days
can you buy it at sephora stores or only online?
