The Acne Thread

it's a powder that feels like foundation, but it's the lightest form of foundation you'll ever wear.I recommend bare minerals because they only contain 4-5 pure ingredients,as opposed to the other new "mineral" foundations by l'oreal etc that contain all the chemical stuff their proper foundations carry
you can see this thread here on tfs about it

hmmm maybe i'll try it. does it have 'color'? because i cant wear any sort of 'visible' makeup to school

I really want to try the bare escentuals powder/foundation.
I have heard great reviews and I have been looking for a lighter foundation, They sell it at this little beauty store in the mall near me but unfortunatly I dont know when I'll be going there again, I might look into buying online though.

I tried dozens of different products that only irritated my skin more. In the end a pill I was on cleared it up and now I'm happy as larry (so to speak).

same here, everything did nothing but irritate my skin. what pill did you take?

It's called Dianette. My doctor (I'm in England - don't know if it's the same in France) called it the 'holy grail of skin care'. I didn't have any side effects from it at all except for the first night that I took it, when I was really sick. After that I was fine and now I keep getting compliments on how good my skin is. The first time someone complimented me on my skin I think I grinned from ear to ear.

Now I use some of the products that used to irritate my skin. Once my hormones leveled out, my skin became less sensitive. If I feel like I need some particularly soft skin, I use Johnson's facial wash and moisturiser. Otherwise, I feel like a princess with just soap and water!

On and off. I don't need to take it because my skin seems to regulate itself now, but sometimes I take it for... other reasons!

oh-ok!!I heard that going off the Pill brings the skin back to its former condition and you benefit only when you use it,that's why I asked!:flower:

Yep, Izzie. Though a lot of women don't take it for birth control, they take it to control their hormones better, which is why it clears up their skin.

I'm thinking of trialing Shiseido products for my sudden skin freak out...Has anyone used their skin care range with any degree of success?

I've heard about that pill already, but I think it is supposed to have bad side effects. I might get it confused with another one though.
oh and I completely understand your grinning from ear to ear when someone complemented your skin. that would so make my day... what am I saying that would make at least a whole month! but it's not about to happen for me

I come to the Fashion Spot once again for wisdom. I have horrible skin. In fact, when I went to go get a facial, the specialist recoiled in horror. She recommended proactiv, but it has fragrance, which I'm allergic to. I've been thinking about getting the philosophy acne kit. Does anybody have any other brands they can think of? I have sensitive skin jsyk.

P.S. Thanks in advance!

Was that specialist a dermatologist?
