The Acne Thread

hey cuivienen & voguelover thanks for your advice on the proactiv stuff :) i guess i can understand if my skin became dependent on it... but i think i more or less expected what voguelover said--about how it only works for the people who are in the ads haha. i'm apprehensive because i saw all these murad commercials and how they promise great results etc etc and so i bought a trial set and used it for a month and nothing changed. so i'm scared that proactiv will be the same thing :S

^ I have/had both :p I still have a little bit of acne...mild breakout on my jaw-line and a little on my left cheek...

I got the acne pill a few weeks ago. Also a little daber thingy and Benzagel cream to put on at night...

But for some reason it does, yet doesnt, seem to be clearing. :(

But its mostly scars. I find my skin to also be very dry lately. I was thinking maybe if I used a good moisturizer it would help propel some new skin cells to build over the scars... Would that work? Or is there something else to help with scars? I tried that Neutrogina scub facial thingy lol but it seems to make me break out... Any help?

I never knew there was different kinds...

On the bottle it says:
" APO SULFATRIM 400/80MG
SULFAMETHOXAZOLE/TRIMETHOPRIM
"

If that means anything...:p

there are! the ones my dad got from china worked the best. Even though it didn't really work but it make my skin abit 'calmer'

From China?!
How did he get that? lol.

This one's "main function" is to kill the bacteria in the skin which will reduce pimples and prevent future breakouts.

I'm chinese (live in AUS though)both of my parents go back to china for business and each time they bring some 'new remedy' for acne XD

Do the remedies work? :flower:

I am currently crushing on :
Garnier Pure Cream wash
Young Solution spot drops

the latter makes your pimples turn into whiteheads immediately just  it.
I deffinitely think I wont be changing skin regimes in a long time
^_^

^ I've heard that it has promising results, becuase it is very gentle. The worst thing to do when trying to ward off acne is to use harsh products...Did you get the face cleanser and moisturiser?

^no i didn't get the moisturizer, just the cleanser. this is my first time trying cetaphil products so i didn't want to be too rash and buy everything all at once. i quite like my moisturizers currently so i'm not going to change those. why? is the cetaphil moisturizer really good?

after using the cleanser today my face felt clean but not tight and dry, like it used to after i washed my face. so i'm liking it so far yay.

^Oh no I was just curious as to whether you got their moisturiser as well...I've read that its very light and doesn't clog pores ;) I'm glad you're liking the cleanser, I think I should try it!

Yes try it. I;ve been using t for 2 weeks it's so far so good.but i dont have the moisturiser either.... I;m not using one with this cleanser because it's not drying :)
