The Acne Thread

^ Yes sir *saultes* haha just kidding! I'll ask my mum about it. I was talking to a girl at college who used to have really bad problems with her skin & she recomended I go to the doctors so I'll give it a go.

^You can salute away!

Going to the doctors was scary but so rewarding. My skin now is a lot lot better, not great, but that is through a current lack of sleep as opposed to 'bad skin'. I was 20 when I went and scared I'd be told it wasn't bad enough but there is nothing to fear. I really do regret not going years before.

Has anyone tried 'dermolgica' products?

I definitely recommend the Clarisonic Skincare Brush. I think there's a thread on here somewhere, but here's the MUA review:

After you use it you'll be pretty grossed out by how before you thought you were getting your face clean through manual cleansing, but really wasn't. Especially if you wear makeup like me. But it probably only works for congested skin with mild/occasional breakouts because it's probably too irritating and harsh for anything more severe.

They haven't gone, there's more now. Why do I have to have a breakout now, it's my birthday tomorrow. :'(

I just too my last minocycline pill. I haaaate having to quit antibiotics but you can't be on them forever.taking them also scares me and makes mem feel unhealthy.

It's just that I know the acne will come back! it has come back every time before this (been on antibiotics 7 times).

If it comes back now I will be allowed a second course of Accutane though, and that'll hopefully clear things up for good.
My skin is looking good now though. no pimples, just some blackheads and vey light red marks. No one can tell I suffer from acne at this point.

The thing is that now I basically need to let it get a lot worse again before I can start another treatment (probably being accutane), which sucks... Because then it'll take weeks again before my face clears up and it's just even worse to get acne again after your skin has been clear for a while.

+ I just started dating someone new and I'm not ready to show him my flaws!

If today is your first day off of your antibiotics, think positvie,it might not get worse :) That's what I'm telling myself anyway as I come off of tetracycline on Saturday. I'm worried but hoping for the best :)

Happy Birthday Daniel :D

Is anyone on Doxycycline (an antibiotic)? My dermatologist put me on it a few weeks ago and this week my skin really seems to be clearing up. She also has me using Neobenz Micro pads, and I put that on my face every morning. I like that a lot because it doesn't dry my skin out like many other creams!

I wash my face twice a day, and use a toner along with my face wash at night. My skin was really bad for a few months but I think I've found the perfect combination of treatments for my skin now! :D

Ugh.

I can't get the Biore Blackhead Removal Strips to stick on hard enough, so they don't pull the blackheads all out.

Any advice?

and the face strips barely work.

So i've been on antibiotics and zineryt for over a month now, my skins a lot better but not perfect, i'm still getting spots but nowhere near as severe as they were before. I still have to wear a lot of concealer , because I have so many marks on my face from where i use to pick at my spots..........how long will it take before they go??!!!!! :(

eternity goddess-I have the opposite problem,I find mine stick to my nose far too agressively. It could be down to something as basic as humidity,as silly as that sounds.

Diorlover-the marks on your face might be there for some time yet (I'm sorry :( ) Because I still have a fair few,but nowhere near as many as I used too. They do fade over time naturally anyway. My skin still isn't perfect 5 months down the line (I'm so nervous about stopping this weekend) but I would be happy if my skin stayed like this,I'd have taken anything compared to what it used to be

You do wait for them to dry don't you? The strips I get; you have to wet them and then wait for them to go dry before pulling off, not like waxing. They work for me :)

^Yeah. I wait like 20-30 minutes. But sometimes they don't stick on properly and there's air bubbles.

Sometimes they just don't stick hard enough and it doesn't come out. Maybe I should cut it apart and place pieces on.

ugh..2 days after I quit my antibiotics I already got an inflammation...

it doesn't really look like a pimple though..i think it may be a cyst, but I don't know because I've never had this before.... It's this really hard painful bump underneath my skin. There's no head or anything.

and I don't know what to put on it to make it go away!

Can I ask: were did you buy them? And how much did they cost?
Because I really want to try something like this too but I live in Austria and I have no idea where i can get it (never seen them here before I think):(

I have red spots on my face (chin and cheek area).
and if you look closer it looks like pimples because there is a white pimple in the red spot (does that make sense?)

Well i'm worried because they don't go away!
I used to have a flawless skin, and when i have my periods, I do get a pimple. But it stays with one pimple...
(btw i wash my skin with shiseido products everyday)
I don't know if it's the stress, or my homefacialsteamer or the food,...

I hate that I have to wear foundation every day, because i'm scared going out with red pimples. Honestly I look like a child with those pimples (i'm 20)!
Before i didn't wear foundation because my skin was so good

Nivea and Balea (house brand of DM) make them. Not sure if they're available in Austria, but in Germany we definitely have them.

My mums finally booking me a doctors appointment tomorrow! I hope she can get one soonish :(

These "pimples" are disgusting me to no end. They come in huge lumps and I HATE HATE HATE them.

Can anyone recommend a good lotion-like thing? Exfoliants? Cremes?

I want them OFF. I might just start ripping at my face.
