The Acne Thread

^ that sounds good to meee. maybe for your skin, less is more?
yes i think thats exactly right... I only use one cleanser now where as before i was trying all sorts of thing and i only wash my face twice a day or use a wipe instead of a wash..

^ take it as a blessing hehe less work and money! :D

i think the best thing for my skin is too just not stress and not to get sunburns...not that i let that happen a lot, its a once in a blue moon thing where i just simply stay out too long. i feel a tingle and im not 'pink' like i assume. you know when its so bright outside and you get use to that light you cant tell how burnt you are till you look in the mirror and its like f*cking sh*t!! im a lobster. yeah i know my skin hates the sun...burns. it went haywire. burn -> peel -> dry -> oil production to counter act the dryness -> blemishes -> scaring :( !

so i just tried doing something new. I read in another site that the proper way of applying something on your face is by rubbing it in to let the product sink in to your face.

so i figured i try that since i usually pat the product one its applied. before i use to think salicylic acid doesnt do anything for me but after doing that my skin would have a reaction the next day. The pimple would actually come to a head where its applied and now ive become a believer of SA.:)

I think I've used too much aspirin mask lately, cause my skin got dried! that terrified me, cause my skin is never dry on my forehead... I think I'll stop using it for a while

how often did you use it?

its the opposite for me when i use it. After i wash it off i let my skin air dry(towels are breeding ground for bacteria) and it doesnt give me a tightening feel when i dont use it. plus it makes it easier to get rid of dead skin off my face.

^ does air drying make the skin it drier?

im not sure but i think ive heard that, then again my air dry my hair but ive heard thats good because heat styling is harsh. but skin & hair are different of course.

speaking of towels. i only use them to towel off the water. but i know some people soak and ring out their face towel then use that to wipe. i dont do that because i hate how it makes my towels rough and i would assume more bacteria could build in a soaked towel.

It's not bad right? I've been using tissue after washing my face

How often should I exfoliate?

I've been using the St. Ive's Peaches thing 2-3 times a week.

Is that too much? I heard overuse can damage your skin, which I would like to avoid.

^I only exfoliate 2 times a week maximum, with about 3 days in between each time. I would say 3 times is probably too much.

As for the towel vs tissue debate,I dont use a wash cloth on my face ever. Just clean hands and a clean towel to pat myself dry.

Are lots of quickly appearing & quite quickly healing whiteheads a sign of detoxification?

Or are they just more totally pointless, meaningless, disgusting & irritating imperfections?

:(

I usually exfoliate 2-3 times a week...
Oily skin should be exfoliated more often, while dry skin shouldn't more than once a week

I haven't been in here in a while! Well my skin still looks bad however most of the 'spots' are in fact scars. It's really weird at the moment my skin is better when I am on my period than normally, which I find rather bizzare as my skin is always worse when I am on my period.

Anyway I'm using bio-oil as an attempt to remove these scars and I will keep you updated ;)
