The Acne Thread

I want to go to the doctor about my skin,at the moment isnt bad,but i want to get some cream or something for it cus my skin just looks all blochy and i hate it.But because i dont have many spots at the moment, would he just come up with the old ' its teenage spots, everyone gets them you cant stop them from coming' or would he be able to give me a cream for them?

I'm sure every doctor is different, but if they're good, they won't dismiss you because you don’t have serious problems. I know from personal experience that if something bothers you - no matter how small - a dermatologist will help. After a lifetime of nearly perfect skin I went through a phase in my early 20s where I got a few pimples - nothing serious, but I'm a freak about my complexion. I went to a great dermatologist and he knew exactly what to do. He'll even see me before events if I have a pimple so he can give me cortisone or "zap" the pimple.

A simple rule of thumb for any type of doctor: If they're good, they'll take the time to hear your concerns, explain treatment options to your satisfaction, encourage questions, and address the problem until you're happy. If they refuse to do any of the above, walk out and find a new doctor - your health and wellbeing should be his or her top priority. :flower:

To All People In Denmark!!!

I am sorry I can't help everyone....but the lady who saved my skin only got a clinic here in copenhagen...
OK - so here it goes:

I started getting a little acne about the same time that my periods stopped (because of some stupid "the morning after" - pills, which f***** up my cycle and hormone balance)....and it's been missing for a year...The acne got a little worse, and i started taking antibiotics. They worked like a charm the first 4 months...but then it came back and got worse too!! Therefor I stopped taking the... hmnpff!
I googled some solutions, and by accident came across "Costing.dk"
It's the website of the clinic...
I read some "true - stories" from people who apparently had had the most AMAZING results with her treatments. So, I called her and told my story, and she just told me: "that's easy!!- we'll make your skin look stunning in a month!"
I payed 1200 for a treatment with her specially made "serum", a hand-made lotion and rinsing-milk. Included in the prize is the fact that I can call anytime if my skin is acting weird, and she will give me a free treatment!!
I have used her system for 2 weeks now (plus been following the advices she gave me, like don't drink milk and eat dairy products, stay away from tomatoes etc), and guess what...My skin is perfect!! And I don't mean OK! I mean: P. E. R. F. E. C. T!! Like when you were 12!!
No more blackheads or shiny -zone...
Therefor: ANyone who's got acne-problems and who live in Denmark...check out www.costing.dk!! It's really worth it!!:D

Neutrogena Acne Mark Fading Peel

I've recently begun using Neutrogena's Advanced Solutions Acne Mark Fading Peel and feel that I should recommend it to fellow tFS members. It's very effective on mild acne marks and works quickly. It's been helpful on the rest of my skin also, smoothing things out. It's blue and grainy and smells pretty awful, but it's worth it. Anyways, just thought I'd report.

thanks for the tip, virginielle...:flower:
very sweet of you----i might have to check this out

I posted on here a few days ago,and im sort of new on here! buti am still curious whether anyone has ever used the combination of african black soap together with african unrefined shea butter?(the shea butter being used after soap as a moisturiser) was it good for acne?
also, does anyone from the UK know where i can get it from -internet or shop, where it is actually genuine? cus iknow a lot of them are fakes!!

i ordered some 100% shea butter off ebay. i've been using it for about a month every day now and i *think* that some of my scars are slowly fading. either that or my wishful thinking has become a hallucination. i'm going to keep using it, i've heard it works wonders!

After hearing everyone talk about shea butter, I definitely would like to get some. I've looked online, but the products I've found are 100% refined shea butter and 70% unrefined shea butter. Which is better? Does anyone know where I can get 100% unrefined shea butter? I live in Chicago. Thanks so much :flower:

Has anyone had this done maybe?

Apparently this method, is one of the fastest and safest mathods in acne therapy. It is applied in 8 treatments over 4 weeks and it produces results up to 3 times faster than any other therapeutic option. ClearLight technology achieves over 70% clearing of inflammatory lesions in up to 1/3 the time of traditional methods - and without side effects.

It is suitable for all body areas, and each treatment takes 15 min.

www.curelight.com (then press the ClearLight option) :smartass:

Like I stated 3 weeks ago, I have tried this method. So far I have had 6 treatments and I see a HUGE difference on my chest which used to have many pimples that never wanted to go away 100%. Now they are all gone  Now I'm working on marks....so give it a go if you need it. :flower:
