no.. but ive heard that neosporin is really amazing for healing scars and helping the colouring.. its an antibiotic cream, designed for healing scars faster, but its been proved to work on acne scars as well! on healthboards.com, there's a couple of threads based on neosporin, which have many success stories... some even make it seem like themiracle cream. i dont know, its worth a try since its quite cheap, and you can find it at drugstores. im finally going to go buy my own bottle today... ill keep you updated, if you like:flower:

Yes, yes, thankyou, please do keep me updated

Yes! Rose Mosqueta oil (from the Peruvian Andes/ or Chile) aka Rose Hip Oil.
It has strong fatty oils and is practically 100% Vitamin E.
Its Fantastic, Use it for a month and you will see a HUGE difference.
Very effective even for 'ice pick scars'. Usually the natural products are the best. I have always used Homemade remedies and natural herbs rather than scented pretty bottled creams.

Cheers very very much for that info^_^

hello everyone ... now I need YOUR help! pimples are quite rare for me, but ya know, i'm a woman, and they do come:wink: anyway, usually, since their so scarce i just let them go through their thing, and don't touch them... takes a while for them to go away, but usually im fine with that. this time, i have an event in two days and im on the verge of having a blossoming pimple.. and im in desperate need of a "zit zapper", which i can find in drugstores? ive heard of a few miracle zit zappers that can be found in drugstores, but i can't remember any of them:( suggestions? PLEASE?!

I'm afraid of the greasiness of Neosporin for my face. Has anyone tried it yet?

Depends on the type of blemish....I will sometimes use Hydrocortosine cream on it at night to prevent and lessen swelling or try Nature's Cure Benzoyl (not sure about the spelling on that word) Cream

i think that this thread is wonderful, i've lessened the dairy products in my diet (for instance, tea with plenty of cream usually twice a day) tried more fruits and veggies, and my face really is improving! Hopefully, it stays this way....

Amorous- Try using 100% aloe vera gel. It's a makeup artist's secret weapon to tone down redness and stop a pimple from forming in it's tracks. It really works. Target sells travel sized version from "fruit of the earth" for like 99 cents.

i just used one of those biore self heating mask.. and my face is now covered in lil bumps.. i hope this isnt gonna make my face just explode.. id never used this before anyone know whats going on

oh crap. I just bought those. I'll try it and see what happens...

For anybody who has a problem with closed comedones (clogged pores) - try Avene's Diacneal. It's really helped me clear those out.

Nutrition

Hey, after reading through this thread, just wanted to say that there is no scientific evidence that says no dairy/no fat/ more fruits and vegies help acne... in fact nothing in the diet really shows much of anything, except water. The human body just doesn't work that way. I learned this in college basic nutrition (which I recommend to anyone and everyone! It helped me sooo much for many things, like weight and well-being  ).

Also, the best thing for severe acne is retinoic acid, or Retin-A and Accutane products, but if you're a woman in a relationship or could start a family in the next 2 years, don't even plan a derm appointment to get some. Retinoic acid causes severe birth defects that last a lifetime for the child, and it takes 2 full years after stopping the product to rid your body of all the risks.

Just want to help, btw, I love this thread, it's given me so many ideas! B)

im sorry, but i'm going to have to completely differ from your advice:rolleyes: What are you talking about? Yes, cutting out dairy, or sugar... or wheat... may not be the answer for everyone, because it might not be the cause. However, it does help a great deal for most, and tends to be one of the major factors for many. I have helped several friends drastically reduce and even clear up their acne by telling them to cut out dairy, sugar or wheat. They fickle w/ your blood sugar and hormones. Some people are more tolerant of dairy, yes.. it could also depend on your blood type. Most people could do tons better w/o wheat and sugar... my mother and i both stay away from sugar, wheat and dairy, which has also helped us stay away from our family's acne problem...:
I agree w/ staying away from retin a micro and accutaneB)

I believe cutting out the "white foods", sodas, etc.. would help your skin. And to say that
there is no scientific evidence
that it helps is simply untrue. If you go to the library you can find books by doctors, dermatologist's supporting both sides. I say try it for yourself and give it a few weeks to get rid of the toxins in your body:wink: I say give it a try, and with the books I've read I'm simply unmovable on this paticular subject^_^:innocent:

A friend of mine had for months and months stron acne, but only close to her mouth. She used everything and nothing was good enough. It was weird because she never had acne in other parts of her face, just there. And she found out (with the help of a brazilian site about skin) that the cause of this was the Phone! And in fact, she talked on the phone about 2 hours a day. The phone can cause acne because it may be full of viruses and bacteries.

Here's the quote from my copy of "Nutrition," Second Edition, 2004:

"Many teens blame certain foods for their acne. Myths surrounding acne and diet abound, but research has not found any correlation between acne and chocolate, greasy foods, soft drinks, nuts, or milk. Nevertheless, differences in acne incidence between westernized and nonwesternized societies are striking, and researchers theorize a connection between diets rich in refined carbohydrates and acne. This theory needs controlled testing before specific recommendation can be made."

So yes, Bonchic, white foods may cause acne (with the exception of soft drinks), but what I was trying to point out is that people should not rely too much on their diets when it comes to acne, because even science isn't sure. Don't go and change your diet radically and be miserable because you think it'll cure up your acne. Just try to be healthy for the sake of being healthy! Yes, in the past I have come across the whole "no dairy, no chocolate" stuff in otherwise respectable books, but those are outdated and for the general public, unlike this textbook which was approved by the American Dietetic Association and is the most recent edition. Sorry, but I'm more inclined to trust facts, and when it says it doesn't work, it doesn't work!

Hope I didn't offend anyone, or sound too arrogant! I'm only trying to help out, and save people precious time to find their "magic bullet" product!

I find that talking on my phone makes my face break out on the side of my face. I try to use the hands free devices whenever possible and it makes a difference. I think part of my problem is that my skin is just so darned oily that I am in a cycle of getting oil on the phone and then back on my face and so on.

has anybody tried using tea tree oil/gel for acne? I've heard mixed reviews, but that it's a good alternative for people who prefer to use organic products.
