i just woke up w/ amazingly beautiful skin today.. my skin like drastically healed. what have i been doing?
two days ago- all over the face honey mask.. really helped moisturize my sensitive and inflamed skin, as well as seemed to calm it down a bit
last night- washed like usual, then used ACV as a toner and spot treated w/ the aspirin mask
internally- i had TONS of vitamin c for the past ocuple of days through various sources such as lemon in my water and tons of various fruits (i've also been drinking a ton of water)
i also switched to a natural moisturizer by alba which is oil free and uses aloe vera, chamomile and tons of other nice goodies... its the only natural moisturizer i've ever found that's oil free, hypoallergenic, really pure yet does the job of moisturizing my sensitive and dry skin.
the aspirin mask is a really great spot treatment if you leave it on for about a half hour!

i'm a teen and just recently my acne condition got worse (it used to be just a few bumps). i'm really confused i haven't experienced anything like this before and most of my friends don't have pimples. i tried cutting out all the bad food (dairy, wheat, etc.). there wasn't much difference. i'm just wondering: for those who stick to this diet, when you exclude the bad food, there doesn't seem to be much left to eat. is there any bread that doesn't have wheat? i can't eat much now and my family has commented that i have lost weight, which is bad as i am skinny in the first place. is more pimples just a part of growing up (i'm 15)? and do you usually get breakouts before or after your period?

how do you get the scars to fade? is zinc pills or applying evening primrose/cod liver oil effective? i'm afraid it will make it worse.

please help.

ever heard of the apple cider vinegar toner? one part organic apple cider vinegar, two parts water than apply it to your face as a toner? works WONDERS for healing, especially scars and such... took a while but it has finally rid me of my lower cheek discoloration from last year
:D :flower:

thanks:D i might try the apple cider vinegar toner. i have sensitive skin like you. do you apply it once a day?

has anyone tried an antibiotic called Deoxygeline (not sure about the spelling)? when you take antibiotics or use products with benzoyl peroxide/salilycic acid, and stop taking/using, will the acne return more resistant?

I did use the acv but I couldn't stand the smell  and if it would have worked great maybe I could have. The rosewater (along with my very good vegetarian "diet") is very gentle, smells nice and my skin is clearing up almost completely! I think it's a combination of everything I'm doing though so I wouldn't tell ya'll to use the same products and expect amazing results because I think what you put in your body has alot to do with it as well^_^

bonchic are you drinking the rose water? what exactly IS rose water? do you soak rose petals in boiling water??

and as for the acv, i only apply it at night. i wash, tone w/ acv and then moisturize my dry spots w/ an oil free moisturizer. hope this helps:blush:

No I don't drink the rosewater, but on the bottle (From the health food store) it says it can be used in food, as like a scent/perfume, face, etc.. I just use it after I wash my face, then I let it dry and use the Origins spot remover wherever I need it! <<<I'm telling you that spot remover works!

haha ok thanks! i'll try and find it in my healthfood store. may i ask if its expensive? and what does it DO for you? anyone else had success w/ rosewater?

I'm not really sure what to do... I'm kinda a late bloomer, so I had perfect skin for a really long time. But just in the past few months my skin has been getting worse. Until this past summer I'd had ilke 5 pimples ever and now I have a bunch at a time. I'm most anoyed with little back pimples which are disgusting. What can I do?
Cetaphil didn't work, or Proactiv and now I'm starting some Origins products. I can deal with my face, which is basically clear, but my back is starting to gross me out. Help!!

1) check previous pages of this thread because i, as well as others, have posted many tips to deal w/ this problem. if you don't find advice you're looking for, i'll be happy to share more tips
2) check out makeupalley.com to find product reviews for products
3) your problem might be internal... i'd recommend adapting a healthier lifestyle and diet!

It was around $6. It's a very gentle toner, which I think I needed something more gentle because I was on a product overload:doh: It smells lovely too. I'm thinking about using a kiehl's toner back and forth if I need something a little stronger. Hope that help amorousluna

Mercury for a body wash I would recommend using Phisoderm body wash (http://www.phisoderm.com/body.asp) I use it and it makes the skin on your body soft and clear:wink: I bought it at wal-mart so you can get it anywhere really

Ok guys, I posted this before but the problem is still bothering me. I have a pimple on my face near my cheeks. I have had this clogged pore since August when I used the Tweezerman extractor to take it out. However, I think it caused it to go deeper in my skin. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

you guys are scaring me with the facial stories. i have an appointment in less than a week for a teenage facial. where they anaylze your skin, use the right products for it, exfoliate, empty the pores, and then rejuvinate. i have heard from many people in the past that doing these teen facials dramatically helps b/c it empties the pores of what turns into pimples. im scared now though!! i have enough random breakouts already!! :(

try the aspirin mask as a spot treatment. after letting it sit for like a half hour, exfoliate that small area a bit.

Grnigrl

I'm new here, and am really enjoying your threads. A couple of years ago the sides of my cheeks really broke out, and I was freaked. They were mainly those under the skin, painfull:doh: and ugly pimples.
I always had very clear skin, with maybe an ocasional pimple so this made me crazy. I used to always run around without a lot of make-up, but with those breakouts I would have to really cover up.
I was under a lot of stress so that probably had a lot to do with it, but after many topical creams and solutions finally found some remedies. My Sister is a pediatric nurse so she brought me home some samples of Benzaclyn topical cream, then I started using Cetaphil facial wash, and Eucerin Deep Pore Clarifying toner. After a month I saw a great improvement.
I definitely had some scaring, but they have faded dramatically over the years. I have told three girls I know who have had the same skin problems to try the Cetaphil, and Eucerin Toner. They have all seen results:D .

Ok I ordered Proactive a few days ago... does it actually work that great?

I don't really have bad acne (but I will get some here and there), but I do have scars from where I've had pimples and they just will not go away :(

I believe there's a proactiv thread you might wanna check out:wink: :flower:

Anyone ever try black soap? Not the fakes that are in supermarkets but the real soap (which is tan/brown) and made in Africa? That soap has helped my skin soooo much! I broke out early last year and it was worse after getting microdermabrasion done and I figured I'd try the black soap along with tea tree oil + aloe vera + the tiniest amount of shea butter as a moisturizer. I ditched the shea butter but I still use this method and it's worked nicely...I get occasional breakouts but nothing compared to what it used to be. I have a few blemishes from messing with blackheads/pimples but I've been being pretty good about it :innocent:

As of now, I have 1 pimple and I'm not messing with it lol I'm waiting on jurlique products in the mail. My face is pretty smooth, there are just a few blemishes..hope the jurlique helps, if not, I'll try some other blemish/spot treatments..maybe origins since ive seen a testimonial hehe

grnigrl an aspirin mask consists of 1 aspirin tablet and a few drops of water. You smash the tablet with a spoon until it's grainy and then mix in the drops of water. =)
