what do you all think of the PhotoDynamic Laser treatments? I hear they are AMAZING they clear your face up and you never break out again!!!! Its even better than Acutane because you dont get all those side effects. Ive been doing research on it. A place in los Angeles charges $700 per treatment for 3. But in palo Alto for 4 treatments its only 800!!! I am so excited! I think Im going to do it! When I do I will send pics over and show all of you!

Yes I was a Chanel skin-care user for over nine months, have tried the purity range (from cleanser to mattifier) and found that it had caused more irritation than good :( It just wasn't effective for my sensitive skin-type, and I'm still searching for the HG cleanser/moisturiser for my face...Its out there somewhere! :p
thanks! I've asked cause i've always used chanel and it's pretty good for my skin (it's not sensitive at all) but since you said so i don't know if i should try it:huh:

^ Which line do you use? Anti-aging, Hydration or Purity? I was on Hydration then changed to Purity...And it sort of went down-hill from there :( The hydration was wonderful, but my skin became resistant to it (don't you hate that) so I had to quit using it :(

whats the fastest way to clear up redness from a spot??, i heard ice is good to calm down the redness & is soothing

I've also heard that ice (or anything cold, for that matter) helps in reducing redness. Apparently raw honey masks can work, too, but I can't vouch for that.

i have a couple of suggestions.

1)proactiv. if its your first time using it then it should work well.

2)queen helene julepe mask. its an effective and not to mention cheap mask you can find. Its highly rated by users in makeupalley and its available in sally's beauty supply. use it as a spot treatment.

3) aspirin mask. go to your bathroom cabinet and look for aspirin specifically an uncoated one. i dont know how long before your graduation but ALL future pimples are going to come to a head so your skin will have whiteheads and it will be smooth sailing after that.:)

This is my second time using Proactiv, and it's not clearing up my face the way it did a few years ago. I've been majorly breaking out lately as well, but I think that's due to the heat here and the fact that the humidty level is at 95% and you can't help but sweat.

I've never heard of that aspirin mask, I will have to give it a try.

Taking zinc food supplement has helped me (broke me out first but I think it was to get everything out and away:)). My skin is also much better when I wear mineral foundation, because of the zinc. You should try a brand that makes mineral make up withouth bismuth oxide, because this is the ingridient that makes your face shine and irritates too (for some people)!
I use skin care products by Eucerin now, with friendly ingredients only. Make reading the ingredient list a habit! Here is a list of ingredients you should try to stay clear of:

Beeswax: Comedogenic if one of the main ingredients
Butylene Glycol: More than 5% can cause irritation
Carbomer: Can be irritating
Cottonseed oil: Comedogenic
Dimethicone Copolyol: Not one of the worst ingredients, but does not exist in the best products
Glycereth: See glycerin
Glycerin: Cannot absorb into the skin, will form a layer instead of moisturizing, but protects against e.g. cold
Isopropyl Alcohol: Drying if one of the main ingredients
Isopropyl Myristate: Drying; more than 5% clogs pores
Kaolin: Good for oily skin, but not for dry skin
Laneth-10 Acetate: From lanolin
Lanolin/Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol/Lanolin Oil: Everything with the word "lanolin" should be avoided. Clogs pores, cannot absorb into skin. Can cause allergy.
Minerail oil/Mineralolje: Used in MANY products and should REALLY be avoided!
Octyl Methoxycinnamate: Can irritate over time
PEG-20/PEG-100 Stearate: From Stearic acid.
Petrolatum liquidum: Mineral oil, clogs pores.
Propylene Glycol Stearate: Over 5% can cause irritation.
Propylparaben: Should not be more than 5%
Sodium Laureth Sulfate: To strong to be used on skin
Salicylic acid/Salisylsyre: Can be irritating
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate: Very drying
Stearic acid: Cannot penetrate skin unless combinated with glycerin
Triethanolamine (TEA): Over 5% can cause irritation

Anything with propyl- og butyl- in the name indicates that this ingredient is made from petroleum and should be avoided.

List is taken from Norwegian blog http://hildechristina.blogspot.com.

i've been having the worst break out of my life!!
has anyone tried the chanel purete ideale serum?
Chanel sucks at skin care! Try the MD formulations continous renewal serum. May not be an urgent solution type of product, but will improve skin over time. An amazing product!:flower:

In several of the mens' moistureizers that I use (L'oreal) there is this sort of skin calming agent that is supposed to calm your skin down after a shave and I find it works for calming red acne too. That's what I use.

I use dermalogica "oil control lotion" with salicylic acid 1.0% every day. it's a effective product for light-acne treatment. but a bit too light during winter, and one should not use it when the face is exposed to sun.

I remember in summer i would lightly press a face washer that's been in the freezer for 2/3 hours on my face after i washed it. It reduced the redness but the face washer has to be dry and shouldn't be left in the freezer for longer than 3 hours

zinc is a mineral you take in pill form...its in many multi-vitamins, or you can take it by its self. it helps with acne cause it boots your immune system and stengthens your skin

Except you can't take it with some acne medication (like oxytetracycline) because it lessens the effect. So irritating.

I have a LOT of acne, but not so much in my face. It used to be on my chest when I was younger so my doctor told me to go on the pill (Diane Mite) which really worked. But then I quit the pill in 2006 and refuse to go back on it and my skin became like lava! It's not as bad today, my chest is usually fine now (thank god!) but my back has been horrible! I don't even want to tell you how embarrassing and awful it is to look like that, my self-esteem is not so high and I even shy away from my husbands touch. I don't even want him to give me a back-rub (which I LOVE getting from him by the way) because I'm so self-conscious over it.

I went to a dermatologist and she gave me Dalacin. That only had a little effect and I don't think it's working as well as it should be.

Throughout the years I have literally tried every single product available that can be bought at pharmacies, like Neutrogena Visible Clear, ACO, the Australian Tea tree Oil Body care products and so on.
I have smeared toothpaste on myself (which helped remarkably but is SO messy that I don't do it very often) and Aloe Vera (works, but never for a long time, also a bit messy).

So now I'm desperate. Really desperate. I refuse to go on any pills or anything like that (mostly because my husband doesn't mind the acne, actually he couldn't care less , and because we're trying to have a baby) but I was wondering if you knew any natural way to get rid of acne?
I drink a lot of water, hardly any soda, I don't eat as much sugar as I used to back in the days and I eat a lot of vegetables and fruits.

Does rubbing fresh lemon on it really work for an example?

Sorry for the VERY long post.

^ Have you ever had a facial? I've been to three and it has helped remarkably with my skin...It is now less bumpy and aggressive looking (waay smoother), and the acne scarring is healing quite nicely (with the assistance of lemon juice)...Yes it does work! I have very sensitive skin, so I was reluctant to try it, but I tried it on one cystic pimple which was on my face, and it reduced its size literally overnight...It dries the acne really well! I use it as a spot treatment, not so much all over my face because it is a little drying and it does sting...
