Paula's Choice BHA Liquid gets rids of zits FAST for me. I don't spread it all over, I just spot treat with it since it's so powerful. If I'm staying indoors for a whole day, I'll just keep applying it periodically and by the morning it's nearly gone.

I definitely recommend it.

I second this! I've been using this for about two months now, and it's been working great. I still get a few random zits, but this has helped a lot. I've definitely seen an improvement in my skin.

I don't know if anyone read my last post here that said something about hormonal imbalances and vitex, but if anyone's curious about that I just got my vitex in the mail and started taking one capsule last night.

By the way, if anyone is a female with acne, they should look up PCOS... it's Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (not cancerous or anything, so don't worry!) and 1 in 10 women have it (anyone can have it and at any age). It can be a factor of acne (because it usually involves your hormones being screwy) as well as other health issues (like diabetes and heart problems). Some of the symptoms include acne, excessive hair growth (hirsutism), excessive hunger, weight gain, irregular menstrual cycles, and so on.

You'll just have to google more on your own, but (there's a lot of information at the soulcysters.com forum), this is what I'm 99% sure is the cause of my acne because nothing else is working to clear me up 100% and I have a lot of the symptoms. It makes sense.

So yes, please look that up with you're a female struggling with persistent acne at all. This might just be your real problem. I think it'd be a lot easier to treat acne once you know what mainly causes it.

^I have my blood test for PCOS coming up (and diabetes for that matter) after I went to my doctors about it about 7 weeks ago ;) The doctor wanted me to keep my weight as stable as possible beforehand as fluctuating weight is a factor, and is connected to insulin levels or something. Dunno. But I think that's what I have anyway.

I have a stupid spot just below my lip and I know I'm a silly girl but I can't leave it alone :(

Excellent! Please keep me updated (we can PM each other if you'd like). I want to get a blood test to check things out, too. I also think I might be "on the road" to Type II diabetes as well, so I'm trying to change my eating habits to involve fewer grams of sugar and carbs to try to prevent that. Insulin resistance definitely has an effect on acne.

And I hate getting those zits on the lip line... sometimes they're so tiny but can be so sensitive/painful!

^I think I'm on the way to diabetes too. My diet is truly awful. I'm not a big girl by any means, but size is deceiving and it can't be helping anything where a healthy body is concerned!

Eurgh those spots are the worse right?! They always hurt the most. I have to admit though,I did kind of 'get rid of it' :ninja: ^_^

^I *thought* I was eating healthy, but apparently it wasn't enough. I mean, I wasn't eating too many refined foods, I don't like sweet stuff so I didn't get too much sugar, and I tend to eat lots of fruits and veggies, so the dietary changes won't be so hard. It just takes more scrutiny and regulation.

lol, I love squeezing those buggers, too. They seem to be the easiest to squeeze. It's so satisfying afterward!

^Twinings do a cammomile and spearmint tea and if they dont sell it where you are I think they may ship to certain countries abroad

we have looots of miny tea here, but when I check the containts, it says "peppermint" tea everywhere :( I think spearmint tea isn't popular here so it's not available

as to diabetes, it's not actually food that leads to it, it's stress, nerves etc.

Actually it is better to avoid bad eating habits when one wants to avoid diabetes. I have various diabetics in the family and they didn't get it from stress.

To stay on topic, I have a little a breakout now that's getting on my nerves, especially the bump on the side of my nose.

^
I think it's combination of foods+stress, but I get lower blood sugar level when I'm not stressed and had lots of sweets rather than when I did avoid sugar but was in stress
Also bad eating habits can lead not only to diabetes, but to numerous other health problems, and bad skin as well

This is probably a stupid question, but do you think it's okay to add honey & lemon to spearmint tea? I just like how it's working, and don't want to risk changing the effectiveness.

They'd probably be beneficial. Lemon is detoxing I believe. And I've ready honey is good too!

How is everyone doing?

I have one horrible spot on the side of my nose (but seems to be fading already ^_^) but other than that I'm pretty good, hoorah!

there cysts migrating down to my neck slowly. i have 3 near my mouth and two more below the jaw line:(

my nose is getting bumpy as well...

I've been using Tea Tree Oil soap from Trader Joe's (which I LOVE by the way, and definitely recommend--it's all natural and only like $1.89) and Ziana, which my derm gave me. It's a retinoid...it's been working alright, hasn't made me break out but hasn't done much in the positive sense.

Has anyone used Ziana?

i only ever sleep on one side of my pillowcase before washing it- for me it's the easiest way to help my skin...probs won't work for everyone but perhaps it's worth a try.
products with too many chemicals definately just make my skin worse.
microfibre cloths are good too.
pimples are so annoying!
to fake better skin i mix moisturiser and foundation together and then apply- doesnt look like makeup if the dosage is right and gives a glow.
aren't we all just so jealous of ppl with flawless skin! :D

Okay I still have tea on my mind, is there a way to prepare it so that you get the most nutrients from it?
