im using glycollic acid as well! the neostrata smoothing cream.

ill check out the clinique blemish scar vague product.:)

I think I'm gonna use a yogurt & honey mask, does anyone know if I should get fat or non-fat?

My skin has been acting up because of my pregnancy..causing me to get acne on my chin.
I think the fact that I had to stop taking silica tablets (a pregnancy no-no) aggravated it as well..

Usually acne products are not part of my beauty routine.. but my skin was looking a mess.. so I was recommended Dermalogica's MediBac Overnight Clearing Gel by my beautician..and it has really minimized the problem dramatically..

from hqhair.com
Recommended for blemished and breakout prone skin, Dermalogica MediBac Clearing Overnight Gel is an overnight treatment designed to help clear skin congestion and help prevent future breakouts.

A vitamin B complex of niacinamide and biotin combined with zinc gluconate, yeast extract and caffeine soothes aggravation, inhibits overactive sebaceous gland activity and purifies.

Rosemary and spiraea extracts inhibit the growth of bacteria while stimulating the skin's natural barrier function for clearer, healthier skin. Salicylic acid sloughs off pore-clogging skin cells to inhibit development of further breakouts, while naturally soothing tea tree oil assists in skin rejuvenation.

I hear neosporin is a good treatment.

I just started to use neosporin as a spot treatment. What I do is dab some on a spot and apply some Queen Helene mint julip mask on top of that and keep it on overnight. The neosporin really helps versus just using the mask alone. Right now I'm using the ointment, but I've heard that the pain reliever cream version is better for blemishes so I'm going to try to pick up some of that soon.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow which is not specifically for acne but my lovely doctor has said we can review my antibiotics at the same time ^_^ I have a feeling though that he might change my prescription though the tetracyclin doesn't seem to be as effecive as when I first started them all that time ago in September

I went to a dermatologist and she gave me some samples of Benzaclin (she said I have very mild acne)and I've been using it for the past month. It really hasn't done a thing. The pimples that I've had for the past month are still here and new ones are inevitably popping up. I'm really not sure what do...

^ Ask for Ziana. It's not benzoyl peroxide, it's a retinoid gel. It started working in days for me, and didn't irritate at all. It's extremely expensive so ask for samples.

That stuff stings me really bad, my skin is ultra sensitive. :(

I use everything Neutrogena, since it's made for people with more sensitive skin.

Right now I use the Acne Stress Control Line.

I'm using an eggwhite/lemon mask tonight. I'm kind of nervous about it! But I need these red marks to go away...they're driving me insane...

How long were you prescribed it for and were you told how long you'd have to wait to see results? My advice would be to go back to your doctors to ask to try something else if it isn't working for you :flower:

Oh yes she also gave me that! but she told me to use it once the Benzaclin started clearing up my pimples (which it isn't) because it brings everything to the surface and causes more pimples. is that true?

yes my doctor told me to use it for a month and see how it goes. my month ends in the beginning of April. I went back after 2 weeks and that's whens she gave me the retinoid gel. but she told me that 2 weeks wasn't enough time to fully get results.

^ I never had any inital breakout from Ziana. It just cleared up my skin without any side effects.

ive been using the neostrata smoothing lotion which has 10% glycolic product and my skin has been pretty clear except MY JAW IS A CYSTIC ACNE PARTY and slowly migrating down to my neck.

what do i do?!

I have the same problem as you, my skin is perfect on my cheeks and forehead but my chin is the problem :S

Right now I have started on the doryx and i still use Duac gel and my cleansing routine is
Dermalogica skin clearing wash and then every 2 or 3 days I exfoliate with Dermalogica skin prep Scub and then use the Dermalogica skin refining masque.. So my acne hasnt improved heaps but my skin is so clean and nice so I know my skin will clear up soon.. The products are great for acne as well.. I probably sound like a dermalogica sales person but the only reason I tried it was becase my close friend is a beautician and owns her own salon so she gave me better prices :) But i think my skin looks great even though i have some acne still..

Emailme, I think think you should address your hormones (I'm not sure what you have or haven't done yet though). Have you tried birth control or spiro?

Hey guys,

I know how your all feeling because my skin has been really awful in the past. I feel like I've finally found a routine that works so thought I would share it will you all...

About two months ago I was put on dianette, which has helped tremendously,
at the same time I started using Liz Earle products which are AMAZING. I started off just with the cleanser, toner and moisturiser which are all lovely and smell really great, there also really gentle which is good. Now I have started using something called superskin concentrate (Also by Liz Earle) This is like an oil which you put on at night. Don't be put off by this, because it actually regulates the oiliness of your skin. It helps so much for drying out spots and really seems to be soothing the redness and scars.

I would highly recommend the Liz Earle range to any of you!

Good luck x^_^
