These are as real as black roses get ... they don't really exist in the plant world. They're either really dark red/purple, or dyed.

Anyone else see the article about the rather odd Parisian goth florist couple in the current Elle? Apparently they are buddies with Catherine Deneuve ... I didn't realize she was an expert gardener till now. She brings them back seeds from her travels, it said ...

They're very beautiful when used on runway, but I hate to see a rose pin on a blazer. I prefer them as belts or hair accessories!

I do the same thing, constantly relating present trends to old ones - what goes around comes back around... lovely pics, though.
