The City

Oh my I can't believe how much trouble Roxy gets Whitney into!
Why she is still friends with her and letting her crash with her is beyond me

I was actually watching re-runs of the Hills today and Roxy was one of Stephanie's friends, I couldn't believe it when I saw her!

Does anyone have a link besides from the mtv website to episode 7?? I started watching it on youtube and just realised it has part one only!

But the lastest episodes are under season 1?

I officially think the Erin girl is crazy. Even with editing, you can't change her gestures, word choice and tone. She has tremendous issues with women who are more attractive than her or that she feels are privileged. Major jealousy about the reality of the world (not everything is fair in life)...Also, let's get real - she knows Olivia isn't there because of her experience, talent or work ethic. It's for a tv show and for her name, but Erin can't handle that. She just wants to fight it the whole way. I also think Erin's "professionalism" has gone out the window since she decided to talk smack about Olivia to Roxy and Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship. Who does that? I was thrilled when Gabe called Olivia hot. At that very moment, I thought Erin was going to throw an all out tantrum, kicking and screaming. She probably considered it .

^ I think Erin actually earned her job through hard work and is rightfully infuriated that Olivia is being given a position she's not qualified for thanks to MTV. Adding insult to injury, Olivia is rude and entitled but Erin is expected to teach Olivia what one would expect a person in that job to already know because their boss is smitten with Olivia. Joe Zee totally ignores that Olivia is incompetent at most tasks and when she finally does something right he makes a bigger deal than is necessary. I could not work in an environment where clear favoritism was going on and I had to take on a extra burden because of someone else's incompetence.

I couldn't agree less...Simply because Erin signed up for this show. It definitely was not a job requirement. She agreed to be on it. She is getting paid by MTV and knows what it entails. This is obvious bc a person with Olivia's "title" would never work with the PR person on day to day things. Obv Erin was either the only one that agreed to be on the show at Elle or the person that MTV's casting noticed a spark of crazy in that would be good for show drama. Additionally, Olivia is a contributor at Elle. She doesn't go into the office everyday. She is just contracted and likely paid by them monthly - if at all. Her job responsibilities are not the same as someone who would work there. It's no different than Rachel Bilson being a contributor at InStyle. "Celebrity" (even if it's D list, like Olivia) contributors are often hand held. They're there for their name. It's the way it works and if Erin was such a seasoned professional, she'd know that and welcome it for what it could bring the magazine in terms of cicrculation/ad sales. For someone who likes to pat herself on the back for earning her place in PR, she doesn't do a very good job of making herself look good while the cameras are rolling. Makes me think twice about her abilities in her field. I acutally don't find Olivia rude at all on the show. I don't find her warm or fun and exciting, but I don't think she wants to be a participant in the drama that Erin is trying to create and she handles it pretty well - esp considering how young, and clearly sheltered she is. Erin is NUTSO with her face making, huffing and puffing, constant argumentativeness, inability to focus on anything except her vendetta against Olivia. I just don't think Erin is a girl's girl. I know people just like her. They hate other women, especially when they feel threatened or jealous of them. Even with all the editing that I know happens, I still think Erin is a bit off her rocker, but like they say - Jealousy is a sickness.

^ I'm only judging what I see on the show. I'm not going to make assumptions about what MTV could of edited -- there's no way for any of us to know that. What I do see is that Erin knows what she is doing and Olivia seems almost casual about her job. She seems to lack any type of initiative or drive to go above and beyond. It's annoying to me as a viewer so I can imagine how Erin feels as her coworker.

Just because Erin signed on the City doesn't mean she shouldn't take offense when her boss is clearly playing favorites and her workload is increased because she has to do double-duty cleaning up after Olivia. Olivia was rude to Erin right off the bat during their first assignment telling Erin if she didn't like the items she could go get them herself. Most people would be fired for that type of insubordination and I imagine the fact that Olivia is still employed is contributing to Erin's hostility.

I do agree that Erin could handle the situation better as far as talking about Olivia behind her back. My first thought was she should just not say anything and let Olivia screw up on her own but then of course Erin got blamed a couple of times for Olivia's screw-ups so that won't work and may be contributing to her very visible frustration.

i too also think erin is a mega-jealous woman. i can't deal with her, she is super crazy.

True...true but jealousy is an UGLY trait especially on someone like Erin. I actually want to like Erin b/c she should be the character/person that most of us can relate to. I agree that she most definately works for Elle (legit) and probably earned everything she has right now through hard work. However, it is painfully obvious that she is jealous of dear sweet Olivia:lol:... poor thing cannot even hide her feelings... Though we can't fault her too much with Olivia looking like she stepped out of the pages of a fashion magazine in each scene and Erin looking well...

I also wish that Erin would stop having these confrontational talks with Joe Z. He is clearly infatuated with Olivia, her clothes, attitude, etc... in fact, me thinks he wants to be her.

But yeah, The City just gets better and better... Whitney needs to step it up... I mean she went from dating the forever tanned Fackelmayer to this obviously gay dude:lol:

Roxy is growing on me... loved her giving Zack two middle fingers:lol:... but Olivia is still the one to watch. I laughed so hard when she told the guys at dinner 'she's always been the biggest hip-hop fan' but never head of A Tribe called Quest:rofl:... such a poser but she does it with style.:flower:

^nah he annoyed me.
Did Olivia say she loved House music??

I have to agree with a lot of the anti-Erin comments.

Regardless of why Olivia is working there, as a PR director, Erin should really watch her mouth and her brat-like facial expressions. Airing her dirty laundry is neither good PR for herself, or the reputation of the magazine.

I find they both must be difficult to work with sometimes. I side with a different one each episode lol

Seriously Erin acts like such a baby most of the time running to Joe everytime Olivia does something 'when I arrived nothing was handed to me I worked so hard blah di blah....'
Get over yourself

^Yes, and in the business world you have to know to basic social graces, but I feel like Erin gets very unprofessional and lets her emotions get the best of her.

arrghhhh erin & roxy are both so annoying!

does any one know if the city's been renewed for another season?

i think they're running out of material. the entire season has been a continual repeat of erin vs olivia drama, roxy being a pain in the a$$ and whitney on dates with douches. ho hum.

i can see erin's 'it's her or me' stance meaning the end of olivia's 'job' and if roxy's such a bad worker, why doesn't kelly fire her?? i doubt roxy will be back on the city if it returns.

hate to say it, but i liked it better with jay, original erin & allie etc

Whitney is proving to be quite dumb. Kelly is so right telling her not to let Roxy be involved with her line but Whitney is so stubborn.

Why are they pretending like this is Whitney's first lookbook when she already had released two seasons of her line and done lookbooks already?

Erin really is handling the situation with Olivia poorly. If she had just played it cool Olivia would have screwed up on her own and Joe would have no choice but to notice. Complaining about Olivia to clients, interns and anyone who will listen is just bad workplace etiquette.

I don't think Whitney is dumb I think she is very gullible and lets people walk over her very easily.
