The City

I'm not gonna lie, I lost interest in this show during the first season but before the new season started (3rd) I ended up watching a marathon of last season and was pulled back in. While Olivia isn't my cup of tea (the bitchy label seems very fitting) her and Erin's altercations are fun to watch.

I don't see Erin as being jealous of Olivia but rather annoyed. Understandable to me.

I have always rooted for Whitney but her constant 'should I invite Roxy' comments are irksome. I understand that Roxy is her 'friend' and she wants to help her out but by doing so she's coming off as very naive and it's very unattractive. Roxy is blah- a bit too obnoxious for my liking.

My MVP is without a doubt Kelly. She's raw and uncut and I can respect that.

has anyone found links to the season premiere for people outside of the us? x

Judge me all you want but I'm Team Erin

Olivia is pretty and all but I know the way she's portrayed on the show,is exactly the way she is in real life.Whitney is who she is,but she's never disrespectful, condescending and bitchy.Olivia's character was funny the first two seasons but now it's getting a little odd.

Get over yourself Olivia, you're not all that. And what's with giving the ultimatum ? Girl,Erin is your boss.If she's not happy, she's free to quit.I'm sure MTV will find her another job.

Anyway, that scene with Kelly and Whitney was so emotional.I really like Kelly, she's amazing.

What bothered me about Whitney calling Olivia a b*tch is the reasoning. Olivia doesn't want to promote or support her clothing line and therefor is a b*tch? How immature.

^ Yeah, and then I'm probably a b*tch as well, because I don't like her line either. It's boring and doesn't look expensive or interesting at all. I would totally buy a necklace designed by Olivia but I would never waste my money on Whitney's design. B)

I agree plus Whitney never liked Olivia (given from what we seen in the show...) so why should she want someone like Olivia to support her?

^ The whole thing is ridiculous- everyone (except Whitney) seems to understand that she would never be showing this junk to big time magazine editors and at NY Fashion Week if it wasn't for the TV show...Olivia isn't alone in her non-support of Whitney's work...

^^you're right Boomer. And I respect Olivia for doing her collaboration with the necklaces designer outside the show..
(unless they decide to show it later this season..:ninja:)

That's the biggest problem I have with this show. They are presenting Whitney as some "struggling" young designer but she has been handed opportunities at every turn and her sense of entitlement shows. Her family financed her line-- she didn't have to pound the pavement for investors. Her "job" is fake. She didn't work at DVF nor does she work at People's revolution.

They are trying to force this idea of her as some hardworking person making it in the City but she hasn't struggled at all. Whitney's big challenge was to come up with additional outfits for NY Fashion week. Even more talented designers would find it a challenge just to get invited to Fashion Week. I could believe Whitney as an intern at Teen Vogue but as a designer climbing up the ranks so fast with those hideous clothes? Not believable at all.

If Kelley wanted to help a young designer why doesn't People's Revolution "adopt" a real designer with a great collection and have MTV get that person in fashion week?

I'm sorry but Olivia is a b!tch for not supporting this?

My favorite parts of the show are Whitney's legs and her model friends! :shifty: At least the ones she had in Season One...

Whitney's still whining about Olivia:innocent:

Of Olivia’s decision to not support Whitney’s new fashion line, the budding designer tells New York Magazine: “I was not so surprised by that. Olivia and I have never really been the best of friends. You know, at the time, yes, I was a little bit hurt because it wouldn’t have really taken that much for her to interview me for elle.com, and as a “journalist” or whatever she is for the magazine, your opinion doesn’t really matter. Your job is to interview someone and then report it, but she made it personal. I think that there’s obviously some level of insecurity on her part, and she’s showing it. I don’t know that she knows that she’s showing it, but it definitely comes through. It was a little bit hurtful, but Olivia’s one of those people who doesn’t care about anybody but herself. That’s why it’s not so surprising because she doesn’t want to help anybody else out. She’s only out for herself. So, if I expected something different from her, then maybe I would have been more hurt, but it’s like the same old thing with her.”

Whitney needs to realize that she isn't a top designer and to get over herself. Olivia was interviewing designers like Anna Sui. If she is this thin skinned when it comes to Olivia and can't wait to see what real designers have to say. I think Whitney is the overprotected baby of the family and when she isn't praised for every little thing she gets upset. Sorry but this makes me dislike her to high heaven. Seriously who gives a crap what Olivia thinks if this is what you passion is?

^^ You're so right with that!! ;)

I actually find it strange that so many Teen Vogue and Bergdorf people etc were at her show but that they 'liked' the collection. If she hadn't been associated with Teen Vogue + MTV, she would never have show anywhere. The collection is really, really bad and I hated how she chose the material for the leggings from some random fabric a day before the show. That is not dedication or actually knowing your fabrics and wanting to do it on your own, it was laziness

when can i see the second episode online (in germany)??? can't wait...
