The Etc Etc of Perfumes & Fragrances

^I saw recently Habit Rouge in parfum form in a little coffret for sale. Didn't even know they made it in parfum form, thought it was only EdT.

First I have ever heard of it! I just looked at the Guerlain web site and see they are offering a "gel perfume" in a limited Christmas edition, 75ml spray; could that be what you saw?

i like the smell of "fancy":ninja:

has anyone found the new kate moss fragrance deeply discounted in the UK or USA? I havent seen it yet...and i live in the states.

I thought of that for the reasons you mention, but it also has a strong floral component, at least to my nose.

Hmmm....I've never experienced that, neither on paper nor on skin. But it only means our chemistry is different. And I always forget to add: this thread is a real pleasure to read :flower:

I'm not sure but dont think so, it was on a perfume discounter site, I think it was imaginationperfumery. It came in a little dark red chest with tassles and was listed as Habit Rouge Parfum, and it was one bottle. I should have saved the pic because I dont see it anymore. They always sell out and purge the pics on that site so quickly.

It might have been mislabeled or very old stock though.

^good suggestion ;)

I need some opinions about these fragrances - what kind of person would wear these:

Cartier - Le Baiser Du Dragon
Kenzo - Jungle L’Elephant
Hermes - Un Jardin en Méditerranée
Thierry Mugler - Alien
Guerlain - Samsara
Dior - Poison

I personally dont know about these perfumes but ive searched them on the perfumeempire.com.au site, and it has some good descriptions about the perfume, not exactly an opinionated review, but i guess it can help you distinguish whom its suitable for.

le baiser du dragon
cartier

Le Baiser du Dragon is the mirror image of a wild and radiant femininity, which transforms the wearer. Just like an invisible jewel, the perfume reveals the assertive personality of this woman, the perfect balance between sensuality and mystery, style and spirituality. A mythic feminine vetiver, its unexpected and distinctive signature takes one by surprise. The flacon is a symbolic object, cut through with a mysterious black dagger, reminiscent of the exquisite perfume dabbers of bygone days, and stamped with a Chinese ideogram symbolizing longevity.

Classification: Woody Oriental, Rich
Style: Sensual, Distinctive, Mysterious

alien
thierry mugler

Thierry Mugler has dreamt up a new creation under the sign of mystery and seduction. Its very name, Alien, resonates like a shock wave, strange and mysterious, emanating from the origins of the world and the extremes of the future. The bottle, like the philosophers stone, calls to mind the magical pirinciples of alchemy; the aura is one of light. Alien is a mysterious and sensual elixir composed along three fragrant lines. An amber facet, revealed by an overdose of transparent white amber. A woodsy facet radiating cashmeran, a remarkable wood, spell-binding and dense. And finally a floral facet, dominated by the sunny warmth of Sambac jasmine from India.
A talisman fragrance... A woman from elsewhere. Radiant and hypnotic, mysterious and yet so close. Her energy has crystalised into a magnetic stone revealing hope. Alien has a luminous sensuality born of the unique marriage between an imaginary amber with its legendary perfume and a solar flower.

Classification: Soft Floral, Rich, Bouquet
Style: Bewitching, Mysterious, Sensual

samsara
guerlain

In Sanskrit, Samsara means the eternal cycle of life. It is an imaginary place, sacred and mysterious, where Orient and Occident meet. Samsara is the symbol of harmony, of absolute osmosis between a woman and her perfume. It is a spiritual voyage leading to serenity and inner contemplation.

Classification: Woody Oriental, Classical
Style: Mysterious, Spiritual, Spellbinding

poison

Full of seduction and veritable magic potion used by femmes fatales and godesses alike, Poison combines Abyssian musk, pepper from Malaysia and wild berries. Its success is legendary in the world of international perfumery.

I just got my Arancia di Capri EDT by Acqua di Parma and I'm loving it. It's too orange-y and strong at first but then it becomes this nice, fruity/musky citrus summer scent. It feels so fresh, like I just got out of the shower.

I read recently that I Profumi di Firenze retails for much less in Europe than the US. Something like 30 euros? Anyone can confirm this?

Anyone smelled Lancome Hypnose?
Yeh it's gorgeous :)
It really doesnt suit me though, but my friend uses it and everytime she does I'm like :woot: so I suggest you try it on yourself (if it is for you of course) before getting it because it might not suit ^_^:flower:

i've yet to finish an entire bottle (i basically only buy 100ml ones. more bang for the buck.)

i finished 2 in the past 6 years:

Latitude/Longtitude by Nautica

&

Higher by Dior

repurchasing the first one is a hard task since it's discontinued. i'm keeping my eyes peeled for a great deal for the second.

i'm close to finishing a 50ml Contradiction by cK which was a present.

to some extend i think i'll keep the bottles when they're pretty. it's also good when the bottle is not just transparent glass. when the juice is tinted and the bottle is empty, it just looks boring imo.

Omg....I just bought a new bottle of Lanvin Oxygene and I hated it...it is way tooo musky for my taste and too stuffy.

Guys, I need your help. I want to buy my boyfriend a perfume for Christmas and I can't decide which fragrance is the best for him - all I know is that I'm going to buy something that I love, because he'll use it for me . I managed to narrow the choices down to:

-Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme Eau D' Été
-Azzaro Now
-DKNY Be Delicious
-Paco Rabanne Black XS

Any suggestions? I'd appreciate the feedback. :flower:

I smelled Versace Bright Crystal at Nordstrom a while back and really liked it. I didn't buy it though because it was pretty expensive at the time. Now it's on Hautelook for $38.40, and I am tempted to buy it!
I'm wondering if this can be worn now in the winter or if it is more of a summer fragrance?
What do you guys think of it?
Sorry if this has already been discussed...
Thanks!

So...what do you guys do with empty perfume bottles?

i keep some of them. ive bought my favorite fragrance Abercrombie 8 so many times that i started throwing them away because there were too many. ive purchased them in all three sizes that they come in(or have came in, they discontinued the largest bottle :(). so ive kept three bottles in all the different sizes, just to have...they live under my sink  they just kind of simple and pretty, very clean

Well, I have used it both, it brings little bit summer to winter but I think it's fine to summer too.. it's very light and soft after all. And it's smell so adorable
