The Etc Etc of Perfumes & Fragrances

Can someone recommend me a scent that smells like the rain is coming. You know that suddenly crisp, almost sharp smell that you get when a thunderstorm is approaching?

Rain by Marc Jacobs Splashes

hey everyone! ^^ I tossing up between buying a new perfume, but I thought I'd seek some 'professional' advice from members here ^_^ I was thinking about V&R's Flowerbomb, Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle or maybe one of the 'Ralph (like Ralph blue and all)' perfumes from Ralph Lauren...any suggestions please? :flower: Or if you've got a perfume you recommend? :) I'm 19 right now, so I don't think I'm really ready for the more 'sophisticated' perfumes that are out there, if that makes any sense, so I'd be really grateful if anyone could suggest anything they think that suits this age!

^ I think you can't go wrong with Coco Mademoiselle. If you're already very used to that scent and would like to switch, it might be better to experiment with Flowerbomb. But my first choice would be Coco Mademoiselle.

Ralph by Ralph Lauren reminds me more of a fragrance for high schoolers... I would avoid it!

La bordélique thankyou so much for your advice!! ^^ I tried a bit of Coco Mademoiselle after seeing my friend pull it out of her bag and it smelling very nice and I've smelt Flowerbomb as well, it had a very strong sweet smell (I guess that's why it's called 'flowerbomb') .. but also maybe that was because I was smelling it in a very concentrated form (one of those small bottle samples).

I do know that Ralph is all the rage with high schoolers, afterall it was aimed at that age group, but I reckon I will sidestep it ^_^ thankyou again La bordélique :flower:

sweetpop, I would recommend CKIn2U by Calvin Klein. It's quite youthful and it pleases anyone in the 18-35 age group. :flower:

^^I love that one!

Today I got Abercrombie&Fitch Fierce, it's supposed to be man fragrance but they said it's unisex.:huh:I have no idea, it's very manly for me, but it smeels wonderful. I'd like to use it, but I'm not sure how would people around me react on that smell.:D

*quickly takes note* thankyou for the suggestion Nemova, I really appreciate it ^^ :flower: I remember smelling it and definitely liking it, but it was one of the samples you guy in magazines where you can't really try it on yourself... I also remember being quite addicted to the version for men XD

°Isa- I'd say go use it! ^^ If you like it, why not? be daring and turn heads with the allure men and women alike!

This thread is perfect for me, given me some useful links.

I'm doing my dissetation on perfume since I woud rather spend my money on perfume than clothes. The history of it all is ridicuously interesting and has even further made my love for perfume grow.

I want D&G The One and Coco Mademoiselle for Christmas!:santa: I fell in love with Mademoiselle last week, I don't know how come I haven't discovered it before.:o Anyone know if it's Rose The One long-lasting?

Coco Mademoiselle is the perfect perfume,I adore it,I've been using it for a year now and I'm still not bored with it,and I don't think I ever will:heart:

I want to try some Marc Jacobs perfumes, wheater it is Lola or Daisy, but can't find them anywhere in my town:judge:

I have MJ Daisy eau de parfum (which is supposed to last longer than edt), but no one smells it after an hour or so. Very disappointed.-_-

I love the smell of Daisy but the longevity of it it so weak. It lasts longer on clothing but on my skin it is so weak whereas V+R's Flowerbomb lasts all day on me and more than a day on my clothing.

^I know how you feel,Nina by Nina Ricci which smells wonderful lasts on me only few hours.Luckly some sprey always goes on my scarves so it smells longer.

But Coco Mademoiselle lasts really long to me.

I Love Love by Moschino C&C is so strong. Just two spritzes and my mom choked on the smell and I was on the other side of the kitchen! :judge:

I adore I Love Love, it's such an underrated perfume. My mum borrows it from me on occasions since people always compliment either of us on it. I think most of the female Moschino perfumes are pretty wonderful.

I think I'm getting D&G's The One Rose and Nina Ricci's Ricci Ricci for Christmas which I'm happy about since I think they're lovely smelling fragrances to add to my already 20 bottled collection.
