The Fashion Industries High School in New York

Hello,

I have no chance of going here, but I really want too. I was wondering if anyone on these forums goes here, or did go here, and what they thought of the school.

IT'S NOT HARD to get into this high school, i'm in it ....love it..... anyway lol, their are some new people who get into this school without even going to audition (b/c they have to fill the seats, to get a certain amount of funding), the only hard part in the shcool is not getting sucked up in others crap, and using the FREE materials and lessons, and figure out if Fashion is for u, try out hun don't give up(my portfolio was crap crap crap), and feel free to ask me questions, i'm a junior now so i basicly know almost everyhting that will happen from freshman yr to jr yr, and some of senior yr

Wow!!! This sounds like heaven!! I go to a fashion tech school for half of my day but it would be amazing to go all day!! Do they have a web-site?? What does it take to get in?? If anyine who attends could give me some information that would be amazing!

Heey ,
I was wondering if you go to the school to become a designer.
Could you go to the school too pursue ( not sure if its spelt right )
like fashion journalism? And do they have a summer like student program?

I applied years ago and failed to get in. But from what I remember, you need a portfolio, and you take a written test and a color theory test and a drawing test. It's like highschool but all the electives are fashion related. It's down a couple block from FIT.

So that sounds to me like it's geared towards fashion design.

I don't think there are really any schools for "fashion" jounalism ... plain, ordinary journalism is pretty much what you need to study ... it's all the same writing and reporting skills, no matter what the subject. I am guessing that this school does not offer journalism classes ... based on educo's comments.

Fashion High School

I have heard that there is a Fashion Highschool in Newyork .
Can someone please give me some informantion regarding the highschool.
As in admissons and if its worth the money to go , and do you live on campus?
