to each their own though...I remember watching a 'hairy women' programme and a guy was scouring beaches for a really hairy woman with his ex girlfriend (who wasn't quite hairy enough)

pmsl i remember that .. and the woman had like 4 inch arm hair i can remember actually heaving watching it. so gross

I just find it ridiculous that women are expected to be completely hairless, slim, have perfect skin, hair and bodies while most men are completely content with themselves. It's really unfair, and I understand we have a choice as to how far we "groom" ourselves, but does anyone else see something wrong with this picture?

I totally agree as well. :( We've come to take it for granted, but the cost of this cultural expectation is huge...so much pain and abuse to our bodies, accompanied by immense anxiety whether we're perfect enough. Not to mention time and money which could be used for much more important things. If we truly care about someone, how could we wish all that pain and trouble on her?

We look apon customs like footbinding with horror, but it's basically the same mentality.

I personally dont mind shaving. Although not as much area, men have to shave too. I dont find it painful and it's not like it's really bad for your body. Sometimes I find it kind of annoying just becuase I'm lazy or dont feel like it, but I dont think it's a huge inconvenience.

I agree Guessgirl. I just re-read my post and I guess I should specify I was responding to Frockradar's comment specifically about expectations on women in general, and not about shaving per se. :p

and would a guy be upset if you just said you didnt want to do that?

I know I just feel more comfortable if I'm "clean" down there. And to me, it's simply more aesthetically pleasing... I don't worry about if I'm not dating anybody, but since I am... that's an area I pay attention to. So it's not all for the men... I just feel more groomed if things are taken care of "down there."

And also, swimsuit season's approaching...

I've never waxed. It scares the hell out of me. I've been just shaving, but I get bumps and it's quite annoying. But I refuse to go get waxed... so I must decide on a better method.

I'm thinking about trying Nair once swimsuit season comes up but I can handle the inconvenience of shaving.

none of the hair removers work well and they give you horrible rashes  Please save yourself the pain!

I second this. They don't even work well for my legs and my hair isn't even coarse or anything.

I've never waxed down there, only shaved. How painful is it?

 yes this is quit hilarious....
I think hair on the vulva is beautiful:blush: , so please girls don't get carried away on this fixation on hair removal,... but ofcuorse a little bit of trimming here and there doesn't hurt anyone...:flower:
and for my self.. trimming.. both in consideration for partners and because it makes me feel good...:D

Couldn't have said it better myself. Much deserved Karma. :flower:

I usually like bare or closely shaven on women. I don't shave down there myself, tried it once and heard that the hair grows back faster...

Nair works on my legs, but definitely not so well on the hair down there...
