The How Do I Get This Look? Thread

Talking of the most radiant face of all radiant faces, how do I achieve Bianca's look?
From Bianca's thread
LOTS of shimmer powder!! lol! Also get a skin highlighter... like from prescriptives or the body shop. I can't remember what it's called really.. but it's like a highlighter you can put under/over your makeup. It's really good, I used to use it all the time.. I've tries both the prescriptives and body shop one but I can't remeber their names! I think they were about equal in quality.

I say first, put the highlighter all over your face. Maybe mix it in with your foundation. Not too much. Then put some blush on.. a neutral color, Maybe you'll want to conture your cheeks with a darker color under the nuetral blush for that odel-high-cheekbone look, but it's really up to you. After the blush, put more highlighter on your cheeks and lids. Then put on mascara if you want, maybe some brown liner, not too much. Then take a blush size brush and dip it in some shimmer powder. Dust more on your face, concentrating on cheeks, lids and a little on your forhead, center of nose (like a stripe down the middle of your nose.. not too heavy though!) and a little on your chin. Add as much or little shimmer as you like. Put on nude gloss. Then kiss the mirror because you look so beautiful!

I am really new to wearing makeup so if anyone could tell me how to get this look I would really appreciate it. eyes, cheeks and lips. And, for the 2nd pic the eyes. Thanks

I found something useful for everyone who wants to have smokey eyes:

Quick Tips to Sexy, Smokey Eyes

1. When doing a smokey eye, I like to start with the eye makeup first before applying foundation. It's easier to clean up any fallen shadow without messing up your entire makeup. This also avoids the dark raccoon look under the eye.

2. First start with a sheer nude color all over the eye. Go from lid to brow.

3. Next, apply a dark brown or plum eyeshadow from your lid to your crease. Since the look is smudged and smokey, I like to use creme shadows and apply them with either my fingers or a synthetic makeup brush.

4. Next, line the entire eye with a dark brown or plum eyeliner. For this look, pencil works the best. If you want a more glamorous eye, line the inner rim of your eye as well.

5. Follow with two-three coats of black mascara. I always recommend curling the lashes first to really open up the eye.

6. Make sure the brows are groomed and your ready to go!

Here are some of favorite tricks if you do tend to get raccoon eyes:

1. Apply eyeshadow before any other makeup.

2. Place a kleenex folded in half below the eye to catch any shadow that falls.

3. Apply white translucent powder below the eye and dust off after applying eye makeup. It will catch any fallen shadow.

4. Use a concealer brush and "clean up" the eye area with a dab of foundation. Set with a finely milled loose powder like Laura Mercier.

their eyes? :flower:
Look right below your post. Do a regular smokey eye with black liner/shadow, then dust your inner corners and about half of your lid (on the inner, closer to your nose) with a silvery white shadow. Top with curled lashes and ltos of mascara.

EDIT: Oops, I mean above! I have my threads set up so that most recent posts are on top, but most people have it the other way..

Mary Kate doesn´t seem to be wearing liquid eyeliner, but khol, i can tell that by the mark she has of the line on her lids. ;)
On the upper lids she is wearing that khol and some neutral eyeshadow maybe, or no eyeshadow at all.

On the lower lash line, there is khol too lining the eye, and some dark coloured eyeshadow for a bit more contour, under the lashes. She is also wearing some light grey shado on the inner corners of the eye.
Tons of mascara too! ;)

Ashley´s make up is different, she has the classic smokey eyed look, black eyeshadow and the eye contoured in black khol.

hmm. Do you know how to get the really black powdery(i call them powdery cuz they are the opposite of shiny) eyelashes? I use the blackest blacks but it never turns out like MaryKate's. I've seen girls on campus do it but i don't feel like asking them. Plus, the eyelashes look like a solid black instead of separate eyelashes. If anyone understood what i'm trying to say and knows please tell me :flower:

I kind of understant what you are saying, but maybe it´s just the kind of mascara that make them look more powdery instead of glossy lashes.

Try using another brand of mascara, because some mascaras look really glossy instad of mate.
I particularly like Maybelline Volum´Express, Loreal Panoramic Curl and Loreal two end mascara (the one that has a white primer). The last one i am talking about is not glossy at all!!!! ;)

I'd like to see the makeup breakdown of the Rachel Bilson looks

The second pic is too dark.

For the first pic, I would use a corally, peachey, or orangey blush (MAC Fleur, the classic NARS Orgasm, a light bronzer) and some rosy pink blush (MAC Rose Quartz). Brush the pink on apples of cheeks, and coral blush on cheekbones and lightly on temples. Also brush some on the crease of the eye.

Use a true green eyeshadow (Stila Jade, MAC Greensmoke) to softly line the top and bottom eyes. Rim eyes with black eye pencil and use lots of black mascara.

For the lips, use a sheer medium pink lipstick or lipgloss...can't think of a particular shade, but there must be dozens.

Lastly, use a shimmery light color like MAC Vanilla pigment to press lightly over browbones and cheeks.

Loreal 's new volume shocking mascar will probably give you that effect. It is the blackest black mascara I have EVER used, and sort of sticks your lashes together, but not overly so.... If I'm understanding you correctly it should give you what you're looking for

Thanks sofialuv and cardboardboxed, i'll try the mascara's you guys are talking about :)

can any one tell me how to get this look..especially the eyes..:innocent: i can never get that crease part right...it looks like i got punched in the face.lol

I wrote a long reply to this yesterday but i accidentaly closed my screen. Anyways, the picture's too airbrushed to determine what she's wearing on her face cuz a lot of times they add contouring and change the color when the photos are being processed but i'll try. You could use any products for any of these steps but i'll tell you what i use.
The face- I think she tanned her face for the picture because she's naturally pretty lightskinned but if you naturally have darker skin, my friend loves Iman cosmetics because it has better colors for people with darker skin and it matches her skintone perfectly. FOr the cheeks, put blush only on the the cheekbones. DONT put it on the apples of your cheek. Try Dior Softpressed blush in CinnamonRose but if you want a shinier more glamorous blush in a similar color try MAC SunBasque. Also brush your face with Estee Lauder Cool Bronze Loose Powder(it's a bronzer but pretty natural looking but that depends on how much you apply).
For the eyes, line the bottom and top of your eye with MAC Eye kohl in Phone number. It's a "smudgy charcoal" color but make sure you use a brush or your finger to kinda rub it to give it more of a softer look rather than a sharp line. Use a black liner to line the inside of your eye(the waterline). Even though MAC kohls especially the smolder one is to die for, they can irritate your eye a LOT but that might be because i wear contacts. So dont use that to line the inside of your eye. Use any other eye liner. I use MAC Fluidline in Black Track and it is really easy to make a line inside your eye with it. Plus it's the best eyeliner ever invented. For the lid, i can't really see but it appears that she has a black-grey eyeshadow all over her lids. I wouldn't reccomend that because it can make you look like a racoon but it looks alright on her. She also has the same color on the edges but smudged up(or maybe it's purple ?)
What i do for the eyeshadow: this is the hardest thing but use a lighter color all over your lid such as a light pink, light purple, gold etc. Then use a small eyeshadow brush to cover the outer corner of your eye with black or dark grey eyeshadow. Then use your finger to smudge the eyeshadow in an upward motion to give an appearance of 'slantyish' eyes. Also, use mascara on the top and bottom lashes.
For the lips: I've noticed lipsticks look different on everyone so i can't really tell what kind she's wearing but it looks like a creamy bronzy color. But for lipsticks it's best to go try them at the counter i think.
