The How Do I Get This Look? Thread

^Excellent! Thank you!! I feel like I may be seeing a hint of slate gray below the eyes too?

Faulyss, I think the "grey" might just be the white and the black mixed to get that affect.

Hi girls! I was hoping maybe you could help me here. I have been looking for two types of lipstick for ages. They are both red, but very different.

First, this matte, kinda of sheer and natural looking red. Looks like an awesome everyday-look!

Second, I don't have a picture of it right now, but I do hope you will understand anyway. It's a deep, striking red, that is matte, and velvety-looking. Really femme fatale.

Thanks! :D

I couldn't find an edit button, am I totally blind?... But here's one more picture of the first style Im looking for:

How do I do that makeup she has on this picture? marieplosjo.com

Face
1. Start off with tinted moisturizer or put foundation on and blend well.
2. Conceal any areas if necessary.
3.Brush a warm peach blush with a large face brush on apples of cheeks.

Eyes
1. Apply a beige or white base on your eyelid and blend out to brow bond.
2. Line upper and lower lash line with a black kohl pencil.
3. Take a matte medium brown shadow and apply to entire eyelid all the way to the lower brow bone. Blend well and use a sweeping motion.
4. Take a darker, smoky brown shadow and start applying from upper lash line. Blend onto eyeliner and blend into the lighter brown shade underneath until you reach the crease.
5. Take a pearl or white shimmery shadow and sweep below brows.
6. Curl lashes and apply two coats of lengthening mascara. (Lancome Defincils)

Lips.
1. Use a neutral pink lip gloss. I recommend Stila lip glaze in grapefruit.

Finally... finish with a dust of loose matte powder all over face.

*Just taking a shot at this. Hope this helps!

Start by shaving your eyebrows. Then line, line, line with an eyebrow pencil. Splatter foundation all over your face, then apply a massive amount of mattifying powder.
For eyes: The most important part of this look is the clumpy mascara, so cake it on!

I think we have a thread for this somewhere.

She looks very matte to me, I don't understand where the highlight is supposed to be?

So, im stealing this pic from Fabulyss, but I was hoping someone could tell me how to achieve the nude/light pink lip she has in the picture?

Ive always had difficulty finding that perfect shade of nude/pink matte color...should i use foundation first before applying any lipcolor? Any suggestions on what brand/shade of lipstick to use? HELP! :flower:

i would love to know the answer to the above question as well! the colors are always either too brown or just WRONG and not at all the beige-y color i want...sort of a mod look with dark, thick lashes and muted lips... the color in the post above is perfect!

nude lipstick

Try MAC lipstick in Cherish.

It's more fleshy and less pink, but the same tone as this and it doesn't make you look too washed out... pair with a pale pink liner and it will change the color a bit too. MAC discontinued their very pale colors from the early 2000's (Myth, Bardot). But Cherish is a wearable nude classic.

No problem! And for a very pretty look, try a nude lipgloss over the nude Cherish lipstick. The nude lip works best with a lot of pink blush so you don't look washed out, and can handle a very smoky eye.
