The How Do I Get This Look? Thread

^The picture is of Mika Nakashima (found on google)
I don't know why I forgot to write anything but I'd like to know how to get this look ^_^

Tried to do that look on me
Used the peach color in Chanel 4 ombres 74 Nymphea on almost the whole eyelid except for right under the eyebrow.
Under the brow I used MAC Gesso, a white shadow.
then I used Chanel Irreelle ombre in 26 neon over Helene Rubinstein's stellar eye gloss 04 cosmic brown. I put the eye gloss on just so the Purple eyeshadow would get a stronger color and get a better hold.
Then I used a liquide black eyeliner right over the eyelashes on the upper lid, made the line more define with a pencil one and toped it off with some black eyeshadow.
on the wet line and on the lower lid I only used the eyeliner pencil.
I used the peach color and the purple one on the lower lid too.

The light is really crappy and yellow so you can't really see the peach color, just know it's there^^
Also my skin needs to take it easy right now so didn't put on any foundation or powder but you should prob do that ^^

Okay so ever since i saw the Valentino HC show i've been asking the same question every time a pic shows up ... how do i get my makeup like that lol

I tried it the other day with the usual products a shimmery bobbi brown eyeshadow, only a bit of foundation, i don't need a lot. I used Bobbi Brown Peony Blush (tried with pale pink which also looked gorgeous) which looked really cool and then the corresponding shimmer block. for the lips i bought that new Dior lip polish (which is amazing lol)

in short it didnt really look right lol

so please, how do you get the Valentino HC look lol. I chose the pic closest to my skintone and colourings, so that i could have best help. I only came into the whole doing makeup thing when i left school so i'm not that great lol, and don't wear a lot of it because of my lack of bravery, hence the sort of natural look and my complete uncertainty in achieving it lol.
Here's the pic we were talking about:

I did that look today, but I tried something new.

Instead of applying foundation+moisturizer, I used a blush brush to put on foundation - very little though. I sprayed my face and the brush with a face mist, then I buffed the foundation on. It really stretches out the foundation doing it this way, it looks so natural :o
Then I wiped the blush brush, sprayed it again and applied creme blush - damn, it looked much better than with a dry brush  Damn. If only I'd known that before! I did powder the t-zone, but I let the rest powder-free. And I didn't use a highlighter, even though the girls did have some on. And then I curled my lashes and put on brown mascara.
This took 8 minutes or so (including doing my brows with some grey eye shadow and an angled brush). Here's a pic:

I am no Toni Garrn  The sun came directly into my living room, so the blush is hard to see on the pic

^You look gorgeous, even better than the Valentino makeup IMO!

I really want to recreate this look... I am fascinated with smokey eyes right now, and now that bf is gone I have all night to play with makeup :D:D I would never dare wear it out though

the_ida, you've captured it very well. you have great skin as a base though :)

the ysl makeup on coco would be pretty easy to do. all you'd need is a medium grey, darker grey and kohl liner or a matte black eyeshadow and liner brush for a more precise look (v.important). there seems to be a little silvery highlighter on the top pic but it's less obvious in other pics. line lips, fill with brush and use lots of loose powder to set the look, as it's very 2d/matte. i might try it out.

^Blending dark matte eye shadows is super hard...or maybe I'm just really bad in general at blending :D

It looks like you have the same eyes as my friend The_Ida, she has what I call sleepy eyes^^ You're so gorgeous, your skin looks flawless

^It happens as I get older...the skin above my upper eyelid is on its way down  Oh well, it can easily be fixed :innocent:

how do i achieve this exact eye make-up? i've seen a couple of girls attempt it but not as perfectly as this. tips?

I just have to say that when people post pictures that are airbrushed the makeup look you put on yourself is never going to be as perfect as on the picture^^

yeah, i don't expect my make-up to be as plastic perfect as it is in the screenshots, but i'd still like to learn the best way to make it as right on as it can be - everytime i attempt, i can't get the shape nearly as close and i'm not sure what products to use. liquid liner? khol? eyeshadow? all of the above? lmao i'm a mess!

I'll try it out on myself tomorrow^^

ok, it was much harder than I had expected
I used a black pencil eyelines to line up the shape of the black wing, then i filled it with the same eyeliner, put black eyeshadow on top and made the outer lines more defined with liquide eyeliner..then i put concealer around the shaped wing to make it look brighter and give it a cleaner look.
