The How Do I Get This Look? Thread

heheh thanks for that, yeah it is cat eyes, so if you want to try that look, get liquid liner, and if u find you have an unsteady hand lean your elbow on something and then slightly pull the skin on the outter corner of ur eye (near ur temple) then start at the inner corner of the eye lid very close to the lash line (cos u want it to start thin from the corner and then go thicker) and draw a line with the liner, and then try to do it abit thicker the second time around near the end and then do a flick with the eyeline so make it a cat eye effect. (dont forget bridgetts eyelids are sorta hooded) then get a black pencil and rim the top inside part of ur eyelid (normally how u would on the bottom) so this makes the top lash line appear thicker, then getting the liquid liner draw a thin line under ur bottom lashes, but dont put pencil on the bottom lash line... ahh sorry if this doesnt help. but i can try take pics for u of me doing it on my eye, step by step if ur having trouble doing it or i explained it too difficultly. :)

^^ Ahh, that actually makes a lot of sense. I can never figure out how to line my bottom eyes without looking like a racoon. Karma! :D

you sure? the one the girl is wearing is orangeish/red. very coral.

on those pictures, the color looks like a true blue-toned red to me.
but the lighting isn't the best, so it's hard to tell..

this is what russian red looks like on the lips, looks pretty similar IMO ^^

ok, it was much harder than I had expected
I used a black pencil eyelines to line up the shape of the black wing, then i filled it with the same eyeliner, put black eyeshadow on top and made the outer lines more defined with liquide eyeliner..then i put concealer around the shaped wing to make it look brighter and give it a cleaner look.

I know I'm four weeks late, but the process could be made much easier if you picked up some cream or gel liner (everyone loves MAC and Bobbi Brown, but if you're looking at drugstore brands L'oreal HIP and Wet'N'Wild has them too). An opaque layer of cream liner that you can use a fine brush to get the clean line at the edges, and a true black shadow to set it. You might want to take the color higher on the upper lid, because the black covers all of Beyonce's lid, even a bit above the crease, which is how she gets the shape to not look wonky. And drag the bottom into more of a slant rather than parallel with your bottom lid, so you get a cat eye shape. You'll be able to create a larger shape on the upper lid that way. Also, her brows are important to the look - she definitely changed the shape up by loosing the arch and drawing the outer half straight and high. Go for a little bronzer on your face, as well as maybe a pale yellow/gold shimmer on the browbone. Things to think about. :)

I'm not really a fan of cream and gel liners and I didn't really feel the need to go out and buy those just for a comment here

I did that look today, but I tried something new.

Instead of applying foundation+moisturizer, I used a blush brush to put on foundation - very little though. I sprayed my face and the brush with a face mist, then I buffed the foundation on. It really stretches out the foundation doing it this way, it looks so natural :o
Then I wiped the blush brush, sprayed it again and applied creme blush - damn, it looked much better than with a dry brush  Damn. If only I'd known that before! I did powder the t-zone, but I let the rest powder-free. And I didn't use a highlighter, even though the girls did have some on. And then I curled my lashes and put on brown mascara.
This took 8 minutes or so (including doing my brows with some grey eye shadow and an angled brush). Here's a pic:

I am no Toni Garrn  The sun came directly into my living room, so the blush is hard to see on the pic

You look gorgeous, The_Ida!:flower:

I wanted to ask what you were using on your lips?
They look divine.

Thank you so much  I usually wear a rosy pink tinted lip balm. Or Becca Lip & Cheek Creme in Rosebud dabbed on the lips with some clear lip gloss on top. It looks the same

I am really obsessed with this make-up, Daria looks beautiful.

So, I want to achieve this look but I don't want to expend a lot of money in new products, can anyone help me?

How can I achieve the lips from this look?

**Please don't quote photos**

(style)

Would it be a combination of lipstick and clear lip gloss or purely lip gloss or something else all together? Specific product recomendations would be highly appreciated :flower:

My guess is they used a berry-pink lipstick and a clear lip gloss on top of that.

Covergirl issues a lip stain pen, it's in the shape of a magic marker (complete with a magic marker like tip), which lasts a long time. Combining this with clear lip gloss will probably get you close to the look.
