I love Bi La Li, a London label. So simple but very alluring and she manages to balance the line between modern and old very well.
Here's some info:
London-based designer Nelli Turner’s label bi la li is now in its 6th season. Nelli took an unusual route
into the London fashion scene, from a tranquil childhood in Bavaria via l’Ecole Superieure d’Arts
Appliques in Geneva. She spent time in Paris at Trend Union/ Studio Lidewij Edelkoort. Nelli then moved
to London to work alongside Markus Lupfer at Clements Ribeiro, before setting out on her own. Last
season bi la li received the prestigious New Generation Award.
Nelli’s style is best described as an eclectic mix of old and new, cutting edge and vintage chic. bi la li
travels through time and space, drawing inspiration from different eras and cultures to create a unique
and exciting aesthetic. Each collection makes themes using familiar garments reinterpreted.
Nelli continues to emphasise cut and detailing, rather than decoration, though an opulent art-deco style
flower embroidery lightens the pensive mood. Colours are muted and elegant greys, verdigris and eau de
nil, midnight blue, black and stone with a splash of jade velvet.
