i wont share the excitement on Catherine Giacomini..
the wouned-medical theme has been around for ages in Paris,
pure product of the Parisian student scene since at least three years now..
of course she's working on it, in a real inspired vein but still, it seems so 'done' and graduate class to me, i simply cant go 'wow' :ninja:

May be this is true, but I liek the style alot, it reminds me of a very strange store I went to in Hollywood when I was little that sold victorian medical equipment and jared animals and art and jewllery, very gothic style, very wierd place, so it left a big impression on me.

I like the Argentum jewllery to.

There is excellent stuff in here, thanks everyone. Scott, I especially loved the Giacomini pictures you posted--they're so good. There's a balance in her work that appeals to me, that keeps it interesting and lively.

Tom Scott scarf, photographed by Joyce Lee.
Tom Scott is a designer that focuses mainly on knitwear. He has been known more for his accessories than clothing, although the clothing he does has potential. He was in Gen Art Fresh Faces in 2003, along with Duckie Brown, Alistair Carr, and others.

I'm not sure what has happened to him now, he was previously being represented by Canal + Greenwich, the showroom I interned with (also handled United Bamboo and Indigo People), but as they are now defunct, I'm not sure what he is up to now.

Couldn't find any more pictures or info on the web.

Wow! Thank you, complexgeometries. Great link
I don't like a lot of the pieces they chose, and I also think they are more interesting in person, but still, glad to see someone carries his stuff.

Here is something from the Gen Art website about Tom Scott's work:

For his Spring/Summer 2004 collection, Tom Scott continues to expand and challenge the traditional craft of knitting and hand techniques by approaching them in a non-conventional way. This collection takes vague inspiration from Amish and Mennonite clothing, distorting and translating them into unusual and distinctive knitwear. In particular, he has focused on reappropriating and fusing different silhouettes into single garments. The resulting pieces feature asymmetries that are both elegant and unexpected. In reinterpreting the relationship between construction and the body, Scott has in several cases combined two garments into one; forms are doubled to drape elegantly on the human form. All garments are hand loomed and incorporate intricate and unusual details. In addition, all are made of cashmere, linen, and cotton blends. Based in New York, Tom Scott received training at historically prominent textile colleges in the US and Scotland. In 2000, he began designing a collection of accessories, with knitwear following in 2002.

Tom Scott is great, thanks for the info, I've had trouble finding anything on him.

You're welcome cerfas. Thank you as well for the interesting Tom Scott info. I like that scarf.

Since I had a bit more time to browse,I really like those pieces from the link provided by complex*. Reminds me a little bit of Preen(those batwing t'shirts with the scribble prints and the ruffled scarves)....but good nontheless.

I`m glad you liked the link. The whole Rocket site is pretty interesting if you have a chance to poke around.

That is a pretty nice site. Too bad they only have a Japanese order form. I want to order the ARTKITIP issues they have! And they sell art, too...how cool.

OMG...they've got Little Red Riding Hood on there!! :woot:

Excellent...

If ONLY I understood Japanese half-way....I'd be so inclined to get this:

Is the drape on the front of the LittleRedRidingHood shirt an extra arm? 360 degrees of wearability?

No,I think it's just a detail bit. Without a sleeve on the left.
