The Indie / Emerging Designers mega thread

Hi, latest bits on Romina Karamanea.
She showcased her work with On/Off .
www.urbanjunkies.com/onoff/0609/exhibitors.html

She was an exhibitor instead of having on a catwalk.
We had a chat about this and she made it clear that based on her personal experience working with other designers, she have seen budgets shredded into pieces just to look good producing a show.

Anyway back to the point now,I was there on the private view day.I have to say that her new collection was the most talked about, even from the designers that were co - exhibiting.
And the funny thing is that everything started just after Isabella Blow had her usual 5 minute run around the exhibition, and then she decided to spend half an hour at Romina's stand !!!!
As you understand lots of gossip started emerging...

three words for her...

WATCH THIS SPACE

Indiependent work is always the most intruiging.
Good luck to everyone out there.

Hello! Thanks so much for the kind words...

I am actually the designer...my name is Phillia. So nice to meet you!

we are in the sales and marketing phase right now -- so we will have a final list of stores in mid-december. I will definitely post the list when I get it.

I will also be selling on my own website www.phbyphillia.com

Thanks for the interest!
Have a great day =)

they remind me of lesportsac, or these bags they make and sell at a local upholstery fabric store.......

The 3rd and 4th silhouette could be really successful... but I really think the whole vintage fabric thing is dragging this collection down.

uau .. sounds is nice to read another opinion ...i like it , thanks a lot ...

but remember , it´s a comercial collection from summer in Brasil .
;)

The bags are tasteless in my opinion. Those are the ones you can buy off from holiday resorts in Canary Islands. I don't see anything new in them either...
