They wouldnt go with just any table, would they? What kind of table do you think they would go best with? Black? Glossy finish? Dark wood?

i saw similar chairs (without the brown cushions) with a glass table with stainless steel legs and big bolts.....very industrial looking.....it looked fantastic.....

i also think they'd look great with a pale marble or stone....

here are some rooms with tulip chairs for inspiration

Welcome to the world of "authentic" design.

:lol::lol::lol:
you can't say it better!!!

I think they go with everything but i would love to see them in a table with 6cm lacqued glass in black and feet in brushed steel, a big one like 250x100 cm

How great is this?....

Sonny, like I said I love what we can see of your kitchen (p. 23), and the bathroom doesn't look too shabby either... ;) :flower:

I'm in the process of renovating my hall and kitchenette. The kitchenette is a very small space, only 1,31 x 1,47 m, with no window or anything. I'm trying to create a sleek, minimalistic, elegant look, which is really a challenge when you have a space the size of a closet... :p

I'm thinking black stone/tile floor, hand-made smoky grey tiles with shiny, cracked glazing on the walls and smooth (light) oak or high-gloss black cabinets (maybe dark red), and a stainless steel, glass, marble or concrete countertop. I really don't know... All I know is that I'm tearing out the old stuff very soon, and I need to replace it!

I've found the perfect fridge, to be integrated under the countertop, and a gas hob that can be placed above it. I would've preferred one with a lower/sleeker profile, but there really is no other space to put the hob than above the fridge if I also want a sink...

Basically, I want a fairly dark and somber kitchenette... Do you think it's doable in such a small space? I guess the lighting will make or break such a dark interior in such a small space?

Do I sound crazy? Any tips and ideas for my cramped space are welcome! :flower:

I've got a fridge like that, you're so going to regret having such a small freezer!

Minimalist, that's me too, BodhiTree. I like monochrome decors a lot. here's a view of my bedroom, I designed the 4 panel slide door closet myself. the slides are covered in grey felt and a snakeskin print wallpaper.

I'm very much a Pottery Barn type of girl. Clean lines, aesthetically pleasing. I love all of their furniture and they way bedrooms are decorated in the catalogs. Here are some examples of my favorite rooms...

My decor style, is definately contemporary. I like the traditional aspects mixed with different textures, fabrics, and colors to give a more updated look. I prefer a neutral pallet, dark wood, and fabrics that play with texture. Although I must say for my age in general it is a mature approach.

I find when it comes to decor the first and most important aspect of the design is the mood you want your space to reflect. Which is achieved by colors. Neutrals ofcourse reflect warmth, and vibrant colors reflect a cooler mood. After establishing the mood play around with textures and lighting. I personaly find the more attention to detail you give to a space the more it reflects your personality.

Very clean with unique color combinations and an exotic flare.

I'm repainting my room, and I'm thinking about painting it a rich brown, but not too dark, and am thinking that it would go along great with my hot pink bedspread, as long as I add some decorative pillows to match the brown, perhaps all different shades of brown. However, I'm torn between painting it this color, or going for something with Parisian feel. Can anyone post pictures of rooms with a french style decor? :flower:

right now the style of my room is colorful (like something from pb teen). I love polka dots and stripes. =]]] I'm thinking about changing my room soon though.

For my bedroom I love the look of black and white with an accent color like this blue.

Although i'm not big on the metal frame.

I'm really fond of a personal and eclectic style; my apartment has a lot of inherited furniture in it mixed with more contemporary and cheaper pieces. As my apartment is very light with white walls and lots of windows, I like to contrast with darker wood, dark reds but with lighter accents. I think very light interior throughout an entire living space is a bit unsettling, I need the cozy-ness of darker pieces for those winter nights. However, my bedroom is very white/beige and relaxing. It's all about balance to me!

I am pretty eclectic too ... my style is a bit hard to characterize, but I would say cottage + Deco + lots of color. I prefer lighter woods ... pine, bird's eye maple, and almost all my metal is white--chrome, nickel. I have almost all vintage Deco light fixtures, lots of lamps, original hardwoods (1920s) throughout. I collect dinnerware, glass, kitchenware, occasional tables, etc. from the same period as my house. Love Georgia O'Keeffe, so have her prints around (also from the period ;)). I also have a feng shui consultant. She likes movement, so I have lots of pendulum clocks, mobiles, etc. I have lots of strong color--purple in the living room, touches of red in the bedroom, green/red/yellow/blue in the kitchen, and jade green in almost every room of the house.

PS Forgot to mention my main point  If you know already you don't like these girls, you might want to reconsider living with them ...

Your Decor Style?
I am moving into a new apartment with 2 other girls for university next year, and since I'm not too fond of them, I plan on spending a lot of time in my bedroom. :p I have been thinking of what I want to do decor-wise, and I just don't know where to start!
Maybe everyone can share their own personal styles and we can all draw ideas? I'd love to hear if all you fashionistas are just as stylish with your environments as you are with your clothing!

(I apologize if this wasn't the right place to post!)
hey hockey&chanel, just merged your thread into this one... hopefully you can get more ideas from here

I like your pictures, stella-mayfair  very nice calm blues and that closet door is nice... i find i'd use a room like that only for sleeping though--i'd have to add a few intense colours if i had to use the room for working (homework, etc) too...otherwise i'd just fall asleep in the monochrome palette -_-

Julz- my bedroom is done in black and white with blue walls. It has a scadanavian feel to it. I find it very relaxing.

I attached a few photos of my bedroom. The wooden walls were already in the space. I also attached the photo of the ensuite also.
