thanks for the help,

I cant find any cheap ottomans so i think im going to so with a small antique table. I was thinking of doing a black, white and brown combo. If anyone sees any examples of this would you please post them?

I'm looking for suggestions of where to buy curtains! I can't seem to find anything I like! I've looked at all the local stores here (ie homesense, pier 1, etc.) as well as ikea, anthropologie, west elm, cb2, dwr and urban outfitters. Does anyone else have any suggestions of where I can look online? I just haven't seen anything thats really grabbed me yet....

^^Are there any particular colors or fabrics you're interested in? What kind of look/feel are you going for?

originally I just wanted a heavy slate grey cotton but now I think I would prefer a print. I'm not looking for a specific print I guess I'm hoping I'll know when I see it. I have a studio and these are the main windows in my living area. 3 of my walls are white and one of them is grey so I just want something that will bring a punch of color but I don't want garish bright colors I guess.....something fall-ish i suppose.....i don't know if this makes sense!

^^Hmmm, have you thought about going to a fabric store and making them yourself? (I know this requires a lot of effort)

Also, do you have any wood in your home? Maybe some curtains in a warm brown/tan/camel solid or print could help warm up the white & grey in the room..

or why don't u go to a fabric store that make the curtains too, must of them does it! at least in here... if u need i can go with u to some fabric showrooms and ask to my
Seamstresses to made them. All you need it's to come to Portugal...

yeah well I would probably ideally like something in a marimekko style print but i never thought of taking fabric to a tailor to get made....thats a good idea.....

Guys, help me out, I have a room that it's a mess, in this room, I keep my clothes, I just have about U$200,00 of budget, can anybody give me a ideia of what to do with this room? Thanks in advance! ^_^

This is my room, I'm a student so it isn't very big, but I am so happy with it!

I really like your room Neddie, especially the drawer-chest thing (don't know what it's called)

At uni, my roommate and I bought yards upon yards of sari silk (both patterned and solid) and just used the wire/clip system you can get from IKEA or west elm to hang the fabric, letting it puddle on the floor. It looked wonderfully rich and lovely, and you should be able to source it easily both on- or offline.

thats a great tip. When I was in London last weekend there were lots of places (notably one place which was chock a block with fabrics) that did custom curtains but I just didn't have the time to find fabric and commission curtains. Now that I have my feature wall painted it's easier to see what I want for curtains so sari silk is a good idea.

in case i hadn't said so already i love that dresser. It almost looks like one of them from beauty and the beast. It might get up and sing a song when you least expect it!

After all my hemming and hawing on curtains i'm going to ikea this wednesday on my way to pick my boyfriend up from the airport and i'm just going to get the plain curtains. I figure if i can't settle on anything i like i might as well just get something simple and cheap!

Ahhh thank you su much! And I looove the fact that you're saying it looks like a dresser from Beauty and the Beast, because I totally understand what you mean :D I love Beauty and the Beast

After a bit of a gamble while driving I managed to locate an Ikea. I picked up a few things for my flat and finally got some curtains. I picked up a pair of heavy solid grey curtains and when I was in the As Is department i noticed another pair of curtains I liked marked down which I also snapped up. Anyway no, I have no digital camera, as I spend my money elsewhere :innocent: and I'm some sort of 22 year old dinosaur  So the pic was taken with my bad mobile camera and also there's a pic of the curtains according to the ikea website. I also raised by table so it's rough 3 and half feet high I would say.

**yes please ignore my laundry basket on the floor

Neddie, I love the atmosphere of your room! My dream is to have an open space like that with great windows.
