I have the LE Pink Clash from this past summer, I think you'd like that (could potentially still get from MAC or on eBay), but I have noticed how pink lip color appears on is strongly influenced by skintone ... I have recommended colors to others before who have more yellow in their skin, and it looks completely different than on me (with lots of pink in my skin) ...

You could try a shade called "Freshwater"

I bought MAC 'Russian Red' lipstick but find it is very bright and vibrant - has anyone else bought the same lipstick? If so, how do you wear - do you add lipgloss or some other product to make it not look so bright?

I would think a gloss would just make it bright and shiney.

You see I want to wear it but I just don't think I have the confidence to do so, plus my boyfriend didn't help when he said thats all that stood out because the lipstick is bright.

I do have the Russian Red lipgloss but this is not as bright as the lip stick and plus the reason I bought the lip stick is because the lip gloss is difficult to apply and it keeps going on my bloody teeth. The lipstick however is much easier to apply, especially with a lip brush.

Obviously I would have to wear it with minimal make up (I believe if you wear lipstick, you don't need to over do it elsewhere on the face, lol).

But can I ask you are dark haired or fair? I am blonde so maybe it doesn't work as well with me...?

Innocent Fairy - Try dabbing a little on your lips and then rubbing it in with your finger...it's a bit messy but tones it down a little.

^ yeah, i do agree with her, it would look like ur natural lip color, or like u'r wearing lip stain-which looks natural as well....
if u still want that polished looks, top it with clear gloss\balm or vasline!

InnocentFairy try putting it on and then blotting it with paper several times to make it a little less severe...or you could just wear it full power to the corner shop as an experiment!

Yep that is me in the pic and thanks for the compliment

I guess it is what my boyfriend has said and now he has put me off.

I think I will start wearing it...it just looks so bright though!
