The MAC Makeup Thread

Thanks everyone for your advice!!!

I am going to try it all the different ways that you have told me and then I will decide which one works best for me! You have all been a GREAT help!

I do have a lip brush and find it goes on easiest with this though...for some reason I find it difficult to put on lipstick without a lip brush and I just don't understand how some women put it on the 'normal' wear without smudging it! LOL! Amazing!

anybody have any experience with the mineralize skin finishes?

i LOVE them,
i only have pink porcelain (for now) and i use it everyday :woot:
u got to love that glow it gives ya, and dont be scared by those big gold shimmers in it, they dont show on ur face the way u see them in the pan,
i also tried one from the neutral line, called avant gold(i guess?) and it's really, really good, it looks best if u have oily\combo skin, it gives u a matte finish but not that ugly\powdery matte regular pressed powder gives, and due to its massive success they will make it permenant in the spring in the spring of 2007 (the neutral ones)

I really want an MSF. Does anybody like the MAC bronzers? I bought Bronzing Powder in Golden last week and a big MAC brush and I love it! The SA told me to draw a big 3 on either side of my face and repeating depending on the look I want... it comes out so evenly and pretty.

does the one (pink porcelain) you have right now look good on fair skin as like blush/luminizer?
i want a peach-pink luminous blush for my grad and i have black/brown hair, medium-light brown eyes with olive hint and very pale skin. any suggestion?

porcelain pink is perfect for that! i posted about it in the products for pale people thread. :flower:

thank youu :D
so are they supposed to be used as a highlighter or more like bronzer or a blush?

I've not encountered a better concealer than MAC's studio fix concealer in the little pot. It covers up every single blemish.

Okay - the MAC website is evil! I went there yesterday just for a "browse" and ended up ordering:

- Humid E/S
- Nocturnelle E/S
- #1 Lashes
- and the Dress Set in Cool (5 pigments)
Total: $173AU :o

I should probably mention that I am VERY new to MAC and hadn't a clue as to what I was buying but went with instinct when picking the colours/products.

So did I do well? I am fair skinned (NW20), dark hair, blue eyes.

Oh! And does anyone know where I can find the list of which pigments are eye safe or not? I'd hate to think I shelled out all of that cash for pigments I won't be able to use on my eyes! :(

^ The pigments come with info on their ingredients and will tell you if it's safe to put on/around your eyes.
Hope you like what you bought!!

No posts in this thread in 2 weeks !! must be a record..

Just before new years I bought

I usually wear rather natural and neutral looking makeup but decided to go violet for new years.. which brought out the green in my eyes.

all images from maccosmetics.com

^Those are beautiful shades Hanne! I have green eyes too, and wear mostly natural colours so I want to try these now :flower:
How did it end up looking, were you happy with it?

I love purple! I have the eyeshadow in parfait amour as well and i love the color payoff

I wore MAC #4 to the playboy club and I felt oh so glamourous. I didn't like that you can't really see me wearing them in pictures but I really love them in real life. I'm so obsessed with MAC. I think I'll make a special trip to refill my shadows at lunch today. I always go into the store and go- "I need..this that and this and just walk out. I'm such a pro!

Raquel welch will be appearing as the Icon Face for MAC Cosmetics. The new Raquel Welch line will be designed around her own personal makeup "look" apparently.

did anyone see this feature in the last issue of elle magazine? i think it sounds intruiging. one of the lipsticks looked to die for.

I wonder when it will be out in stores. i totally missed out of the catherine deneuve collection for mac. i wanted to get some for my mom.

^ The Raquel line was written up in Allure too ... looked like some good colors & it was a very interesting interview. I thought she revealed a lot more than Catherine, but hey, American vs French
