angela xx and Meg have you tried MACs new liquidlast liner - those suckers don't budge.. infact you have to take them off w. great care (oily eye make-up remover and q-tips)

hanne, just saw your post now. I haven't tried them but I'm quite new to liquid liner and thought it would be easier for me to apply something with a brush as opposed to the applicator. My only complaint about the fluidlines is there is no dark brown. There is a brown but I find it quite light so I wear black, even though it's a bit harsh.

I bought the amblified cream lipstick (colour: blankety) yesterday and it's very good! I love the shade and the texture!really moisturizing!

that was one of my first mac lipsticks :) love it!

Had a couple of MAC thoughts ...

One is, Lipglass is so much more tolerable now that I got my hair cut short enough that it no longer gets stuck in it

The other is that Lustre lipstick (specifically Sophisto) is really growing on me. At first the texture felt too light, because I like having something on my lips and it felt like nothing  But I'm really liking it now ... ^_^

yeah, lustre lipsticks are my fave cause it's not too much color, but has that glossy effect

I'm in love with the lure collection too! But I seem to have far too many make up products... and not much money. But I start working again next week :)

So is it better to apply foundation with a brush? I bough an sponge to apply the one I bought recently because I thought it was easier. I work wonders with eye make up (my eyes and very big, so I have plenty space to paint, lol), but it was my first contact with foundation.

Is MAC's brow-gel good? My eyebrows are a mess and the other product I used (from another brand) is nearly finished.

using a brush is much better for foundation. sponges tend to deposit too much powder makeup and soaks up a lot of liquid makeup which would be a waste. and you should always change out your sponges every week or so. you don't want to keep putting that oil/bacteria on your face.

the brow gels are nice. the colored ones are just a sheer tint of color and still keeps them in place. they don't flake so you wont look like you have flakey eye brows.

if you want something that's darker than the brown but not the black, try out either blitz n glitz or the nightfish fluidliners

1) LOL I had the same epiphany last year, but my hair has grown long again:lol:

2) I love lustre lipstick!! I like Touch and (especially) Entwined.I had Sophisto at one stage..it's lovely!

I have bought the Stick Foundation...thought that it would be horribly thick and plastery like StudioTech, didn't even want to try,but was very pleasantly surprised. Perfect for my very oily summer skin. I use it with the bronzer in Golden, from the Lure Collection.

^ I have a feeling that may happen to mine too, Quirky  But for now it's great ;)

Btw, have you been keeping up with Hipkitten's posts re the miracle of Prada powder? She has oily skin too and says it keeps her matte all day  I can't imagine, but I'm gonna try it ...

Prada powder? Interesting, thanks for the heads-up;I should investigate this...

You can't get prada make-up here, naturally, but we are going on a road trip across Europe soon (to Slovenia and Croatia) and may have to do a Prada Powder Stop en route...

Which thread is it? I'll do a search...

Oh and my Friday indulgent purchase was lipglass in Sex Ray from the Lure collection...

(note to self...must not buy make-up for another year.)

Can someone help me find a light brown eyeshadow that would go with Rummy? Thank you!

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but in the credits of Pirates of the Caribbean 2, it stated that MAC provided all the makeup for the film. The makeup in the film looked really good, nice and natural but sometimes with hints of bright vibrant colours. I wonder what products they used.

I can't believe I didn't find this thread earlier. I absolutely love MAC  Almost all the makeup products I use are from MAC, except for my Nars blush, and my Anna Sui mascara.

My personal favourites:

Eyeliner: Powerpoint pencil in Grey Utility
Eyeshadow: Swimming, Love Bud, Naked Lunch, Parfait Amour, Electra
Lipstick: Plink! (for daytime), and Lustering (when I feel like bright colours)
Lipglass: I'm now using Early Bloomer, but my first and absolute favourite Lipglass was a limited edition one from a few years back. It was a pale pink with gold shimmer, called Golightly, but they don't have it anymore

I think it's called Prada Beauty ...

Am wearing Sex Ray now, isn't it lovely? I had never seen Lure Pink Clash until I came across it yesterday at a store that was sold out but still had the sample out. Just got it from eBay :innocent: I have to say, for a practical girl, I am totally seduced by the Lure packaging :innocent:

Yesterday I got Desert Rose blush to wear with reds. I like it, but wish it were the sheer blush since I'm so fair. Well, can't have everything ;)

Now I just need a really glossy red gloss for fall. I was thinking of Dior's Plastic Shine (or whatever they've renamed it to now), but does MAC have something I should look at, maybe Chromeglass?

I'm in love with MAC.
I use studio tech foundation w/ select sheer pressed powder & sometimes concealer and bronzing powder.

I love the lustre lipstick Pretty Please & amplified lipstick in Tassle.

I have a question for those pro in make up: My foundation is NC20 but for the summer I would like use another one since my skin is slightly tanned already and NC20 becomes too ghostly on me. Should I try NC25 or just apply more bronzing powder? Isn't it a waste of money to buy a new foundation just for summer? What if I get more tanned?

^ I would definitely get foundation to match your current skintone. Mine basically doesn't change year-round ^_^ Handy ;)

Btw, I got the Rimmel brow mascara, and it works exactly as it should ... soooo much better than MAC. There are several areas that really need attention ... mascara being at the tippy top of the list. I also really wish MAC had good skincare products.

I just got the Aqualine liquidlast liner. The colour is amazing  and it lasts forever!
I also got pro longwear lipcolour in Unwilting and pro longwear lustre in Fully charged. These also last very long but I'm not very happy with them because they make my lips dry

I had recently purchsed a Select sheer pressed powder and loved the coverage but had to return it after using it only a month because I couldn't stand the smell. I hardly used it but it gaves this sour pungent smell like dijon mustard. I even threw away the sponge thinking it was the culprit but the smells still remains.
Should I give it another shot or just try something else?

anitalilac if you hated the smell you should definately try something else
fashionista-ta you're right but this one is even worse than other longlast lip glosses!
