The MAC Makeup Thread

Yes, as part of the Back to Mac program, you can receive a free lipgloss, lipstick or eyeshadow for every 6 empty plastic or glass containers that you bring back in to the store. Pots are the plastic trays that the regular eyeshadows come in. I take them out of the trays that they are sold in to get free products and b/c they take up less room now that I have the shadows in pro palettes. If you need a tutorial on how to take them out, let me know and I will post one.

From maccosmetics.com:

Yes, I would be interested. I keep all my current eye makeup in a basket and I am utterly tired of digging for the eyeshadow I want :innocent: Plus you're right ... I actually hit the pan on my Idol Eyes not long ago & I was amazed ... usually only do that on very pale neutral shades I am using as base shadows. So doing this is the only way you can get the containers to recycle ... otherwise they're tied up for years till you decide to toss.

On another note ... I just used the last of my LE Pink Clash, which I absolutely loved. Any recs for a replacement?

Also thanks for the news of the new mascara. I'm using DiorShow right now & love it, but am willing to try the MAC so I can recycle the container ...

That was my problem too...whenever I would do my eye makeup my countertop in the bathroom was completely covered w/ eyeshadows. It saves so much space!

are the palettes available at any locations other than Pro stores? i'm really interested in these. ^_^

More pics of the holiday sets.

thanks guys! i'll add the palettes to my long list.

the holiday collection looks nice... perhaps a bit more up my alley than the offerings last year.

the lip stick/glass set and the brush set from the holiday collection is pretty impressive

^Yeah, I went in to a MAC store last week and the salesgirl tried to push it on me. I told her I just bought a new tube of Diorshow, and she said that the MAC mascara is supposed to be a knock-off of Diorshow.

Are you talking about the "plush" mascara? B/c I just bought it and I told my sales girl about the comparison that has been made to diorshow and she was puzzled. She said it's nothing like diorshow and showed me the brush. It's like a condensed "X". Flatter on two sides and wider on two sides. And she has short lashes like me and says it's good for layering it up until your lashes are as long as you want without clumping. PLus only $11! Plus my diorshow is drying out. As usual.:innocent:

Of the new antiquease products, has anyone tried them yet? i just bought one of the frost lipsticks (I think it's caled "her frill?" can't recall it's nudie shimmery light pink). And one of those baked mineral e/s things. Those are really nice! I got the blue/silver one but they were all beautiful.

I'm looking for a matte, true red lip color. I absolutely do not want anything that looks orange or pink, which tons of reds seem to do on me, unfortunately. So I was wondering, would either Russian Red or Ruby Woo be good for this? I've looked at the color swatches on the website, but I can't decide. There isn't a mac counter where I live, so most likely I'll be ordering.

Thanks!:flower:

I have Ruby Woo and I swear by it. It makes the lips look beautiful and plush. I say go for it.:flower:

brush 182 is amazing.

New vegas is OK IMO.

the pro palletes are AMAZING. forget the pots, esp since I burn mine out and then put them in the empty pallete and then take the empty eye shadow pots back to MAC and get free lip glosses/lip sticks. I think they are tired of me hahaha. I have 7 more to take back..but will wait until i get back home.

Yeah, she was talking about the Plushlash mascara. Go figure. Anyway I prefer Diorshow.

But I am so excited for Antiquitease. I wish I could've gone to one of the launch parties, but I guess I'll just have to wait another week and a half. I really want all of the mineralized eyeshadows, a couple of the pigments, and a lipstick or two. ^_^

^ lol i got stuck b/w the mineralize eyeshaow (either engage, silver family or the one with grey and purple). the colour are so fairy tale like.

omg seriously that guy in that tutorial didn't need 10 minutes to explain that. haha

^ thanks for posting that! oh man.... Gilty Kiss, Queen's Sin, Uppity, and all the shadows, pigments and polishes are calling my name. uhoh.....

Ooh, yeah. The collection is supposedly coming out this Thursday, not next Thursday as was originally planned. My wallet is about to take a beating.

how much are the palettes to put the shadows in? i cant find it on the website..

Dandy - They are like $12. They aren't on that site, only on the pro site or availible in Pro stores. You can always call and order one over the phone though.

ohhh okay!
