The Mascara Thread

has anyone tried out the lancome hypnose precious cells mascara? i picked it up today but i was dissappointed in the fact that the smell of it is soooo strong. the result is great, but i keep hesitating to use it because of the scent/smell.

I've always been disappointed in Lancome mascaras and apparently that's what they're known for. I'd buy any $5 mascara over definicils! so if it smells bad you could probably get a much nicer mascara for around the same price, maybe a little more. dior show iconic is only, what, three dollars more? chanel maybe six more.

Can someone reccomend a good light brown (maybe) mascara for me? I have very fair eyelashes and I've truthfully never worn mascara a lot, although I do curl my lashes. I just want something that will make them a little more noticeable, but I think if I get a regular brown or black shade it will just be too jarring. :flower:

^I'd go for anything copper or golden. "Paul & Joe Duo" in D'or is a great shade to enhance light lashes without being too obvious.

I ordered the diorshow lash primer thingy the other day. Is it any good?

I got it. It's just a good lash primer that maintains the curve. Otherwise, I don't see any difference as to having more lashes or longer lashes. I still loose the same amount of lashes I used to.

Mascara is so evil. I've spend a fortune trying to find the "right one" and all those expensive little tubes end up in my drawer because in the end I always find myself buying another one of Maybelline's "Cream Pearl Mascara" (which is like 4€) and getting frustrated at how perfect it is because I spend all that money for nothing.

my favorite mascara of all time is max factor masterpiece ^ better than any expensive mascara i've tried! it's amazing.

I think it seperates perfectly and makes for beautifully long, natural looking lashes.

Giorgio Armani has great mascara's in brown:flower:

^ I see barely any difference there

That's exactly what I want from a mascara, to be invisible. I've naturally long lashes but they are pale so the mascara should make them "visible" without making it obvious. I hate mascaras that make my lashes look clumpy and made up.

then new clinique bottom lash mascara is PERFECT! I even made a blog post about it a couple of weeks ago. You should try it.

I was a devoted fan of Lancome Virtuose, then my cousin put me on to Clinique High Definition and now I am converted! The trick is to wipe the brush on a tissue before you apply it, and that gets rid of the excess so that you can feather it on. It lasts all day, doesn't smudge, and if you build it in layers it gives the longest, thickest lashes you've ever seen!

The best mascara I've ever used is Maybelline's Volum' Express Turbo Boost. It stays on forever, and gives me thick, long lashes. No matter which other brands I try, I always go back to that one.

best mascara ever is lancome hypnose. it seriously looks like false lashes. i have one of those, clinique lash doubling and mac dazzlelash on the go. lash doubling is ok, it gives nice length and seperation but it transfers after a few hours. the dazzlelash irritates my eyes a little but is an ok day mascara. hypnose is just..perfect!

i think hypnose makes lashes too glumpy looking and dont separate them well. that mascara is not for my type of lashes-
