The Mascara Thread

probably just an old tube of mascara that got contaminated...always chuck a mascara if your eye is irritated...but it's unlikely that it's the brand...

May be it is, because I got my first irritation after Maybelline. Now I always check how does one mascara smell. Somehow I can recognise the wrong smell  and not only from the cheaper ones , but from a designer makeup too. So, I'm carefull. For example I use a Nina Ricci green mascara that smells ok for me and doesnt cause irritation.

I'm having a bad experience with my Maybelline mascara too. It clumps, smudges and my eyes itch every now and then. Awful...

I said no, I feel like it makes my eyes look too heavily made up. But it does come down to personal preference :flower:

I do both top & bottom, but I've heard putting it on the bottom cast a shadow underneath your eye... I don't find it but other people might

I wear both because otherwise it looks rather odd to have very light lashes underneath. I think it also depends on your eyes and face. This girl I know looks so fabulous with a bit of liner and mascara on the bottom because...well, I don't know exactly why, but it just works for her. Some people look scary with it and some look better.

Top and bottom for me, but use ysl's faux cils for the top ( as makes my lashes fuller) and guerlain for the bottom (as its less obvious)

I just do top. I've tried bottoms and it made my eyes look too heavy. Also my bottoms usually get a bit on them from the tops anyways. They look less than the tops but still look like they are coated.

I wear top and bottom because it looks strange if i leave it as just top - i don't put much on the bottom lashes though.

I don't wear mascara much at the moment though.

i don't...it makes me look like some mime-ish clowngirl or something..i'm probably not doing it right, but it just looks horrible on me, but it looks great on some of my friends...

I've allways been partial to Lancôme mascaras
my fav has to be Hypnôse...real WOW factor lashes!
I cannot recommend it enough.

Dior Maximeyes is great! Doesnt cause irritation for me and is really light so I dont feel it on my eyes. Makes great volume too. :woot:

because of all the posts on this topic, i was tempted to go out and try DIORSHOW... so far, so good!

I use Lancome Defincils and it's never irritated my sensitive eyes. I also want to try Mabelline Great Lash bc it's a staple with make-up artists.

ive always wanted to try Mabelline Great Lash but i remember my friend using it and there was always a grey shadow under her eyes, which makes me hesitate....

I've been using Maybelline Volum' Expresss and I like it. It's a tad bit heavy, but I always take some of the excess with a kleenex.

I'm thinking of getting MAC Zoom Lash. Is this any good? I want a really thickening/lengthening mascara. I've tried DiorShow and it's great but I love trying new mascaras.
