The Mascara Thread

i prefer prolash over diorshow...but Mac Fibre lash is the best thing i've tried so far

IO've just discovered the joys of YSL mascara!

Everyone I knew kept raving about it - so I picked up a random tube of it (without even looking at what it was, lol) and tried it out and its fantastic :woot:

Its the false eyelash effect one. So, go buy it!

i am going to spend the night over someone's house this weekend. is it ok to sleep in my mascara for one evening? i don't rub my eyes.

I think it depends on the mascara. I take it you won't be removing any of your makeup or cleansing your skin before bedtime??

no i will cleanse my skin and wipe off my eye shadow but i don't want to remove the mascara...

Hmm, it may smudge onto the pillow case...just, don't make a habit of it!

i'm a really clean sleeper :D i always take all makeup off before bed but this weekend, i dunno, i just wanna see how far my mascara will take me...

my favorite mascara is chanel's instant lash. i've been using it for several years now, and it really is the best.

I was just about to buy Helena Rubinstein's but it's been discontinued in Brazil. Some shops are still selling it but what's the use of getting hooked on something that I'll soon have to dismiss?

I have tried every single mascara out there, drugstore and department store. My favorite for the longest time was the clarins one. Then, lancome hypnose came out and it is amazing. i highly recommend it.

Ah I feel kinda cheap. But I'm more of a "drugstore" type of girl, unfortuantly. I saw the Rimmel Mascara "the london look". Has anyone tried it, and is it worth getting??

My eyelashes are really short and fine kind of... so I want something that will thicken them and make them appear longer. So if there is a drugstore mascara you recommend, please let me know!! :-)

hey guys, sorry this may be off topic a bit but lately i notice my eyelashes falling out more often. i haven't changed my mascara though (diorshow). how fast do lashes usually grow back?

^ Make sure u wash ur face from all the make up when u go to sleep.
Don't use the eye lash curler after you've put mascara on.
I can't say how long it takes to grow them back, but just don't touch them
and they will grow out in time, don't worry :flower:

thanks  yes, i do wash my face completely every night and don't rub my eyes...

So I tried Lancome - Hypnose this week. It's quiet good, I got those
long & seperated eyelashes and I could have many coats without it getting messy. It doesn't smell funny and has a good brush.

It gets 4,4 ( out of 5 ) of me.

However, for those who have " straight " eyelashes and wants them curled and " thicker ", I still recommend YSL - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils

am i the only one who uses clinique long pretty lashes???

i think its sooooooo goood. gives u really perfect daytime lashes with one coat- thickes, seperates and curls.

with another coat or two it really really lengthens them and looks amazing for night time. i thinks its definitely the best clinique mascara.

I bought Diorific last Thursday (it's been discontinued but there was a huge sale on a makeup store and they had a couple left) and it's amazing. Doesn't clump, doesn't smudge and stays for hours. I just got Helena Rubinstein's Spectacular Mascara today and it's also amazing. It does wonders if you want long long lashes. Too bad L'Oreal just stopped selling it in Brazil.

Need help on a major mascara trouble - pleeease!!!

I'm facing a - shallow I know ; yet - terrible dilemma. After months of a tireless search for the perfect high brand mascara, I decided to give Helena Rubinstein's Spectacular Mascara a try. Much to my distaste, L'Oreal just stopped importing HR to my country. So, I'm just about to go back to the store where I got it and buy the last two packs they have, but by the beginning of 2006 I'll run out of it altogether. My problem is: what brand should I try next? What mascara can live up to HR's Spectacular? I know there's a pinned topic on mascaras but this is a totally different situation - but anyway mods feel free to merge it if you will. Please, please help me!!

It would be easier if you could tell what results do you want to achieve with mascara (volume, lenghtening, etc).

I´ve never tried that mascara so i cannot compare to the ones i know.
