The Mascara Thread

I love love love Maybelline XXL Volume + Length in very black. It's awesome. I apply it only to my top lashes, and they always look great.

Diorshow is very popular and so is Lancome Hypnose. Safe choices. I love Hypnose! ^_^

But unfortunately different mascaras work different on people. So you have to try yourself to your HG.

That's one of my faves too! Wait, I like the intense XXL not the regular one. but good stuff!

Im using Dior show just now, but I just don't think its for me - the brush is too big and I keep ending up with it all over my cheeks and brow :innocent:

Determined to finish it though - the actual mascara is great. Im going back to YSL after I finish the Dior one. I really like the Chanel ones with the really small brush.

see, i LOVE diorshow (despite its faint rose scent) & pair it with lancome cils booster xl primer for fat, false-looking lashes.

recently, i've been using bare escentuals big tease for defined, long lashes. i feel like i'm getting more bang for my buck with this particular product since it's equipped with a two-sided brush, one side volumizes via short, squat bristles while the other lengthens with extra-long, squared-off bristles.

for flirty, curly lashes, i use bourjois volume glamour mascara but find that its effectiveness dwindles after a month or so of use.

Guys I'm going to actually buy mascara soon and I want your opinion on which one I should buy. I want something that maximize length, doesn't clump, and gives the lashes a dramatic effect.

Some of my friends recommend Dior. What do you guys think?

If you want to try something cheap but good
i honestly would recommend Cover Girl
Lash Exact = length & definition, no clumps, not big on volume
Super Thick Lash = volume, some length
Fantastic Lash = volume, length & definition. But several times i got a bad batch that was a bit dry - so i pumped the wand.

I am amazed with clinique´s high impact mascara :D

The wand is fabulous and gives amazingly long and separated black lashes!
I love it now!

DO NOT use maybelline's new last stylist.. it is all clump! And flakes! Right into my eyes! And sooo hard to get off!

The Best Mascara I've Come Across...

hands down bourjois pump up the volume waterproof. i purchased this along with the maxi frange because they got really good reviews on MUA. I'm really impressed with "pump up the volume". I have really short sparse asian lashes that will not hold a curl if the mascara isn't waterproof...this mascara has a super dark and glossy finish unlike other mascaras i've tried, which tend to have more of a dry matte finish once it dries. It stays on for a long time, and I haven't had any major issues with smuding. but after 2 coats the results are thick doll like lashes, that are perfectly defined. oh, and it's not too expensive either.

As for the maxi frange, i found it to be kind of a pain in the butt to apply, takes a lot of time, and the results were straight clumpy lashes, not worth 20 bucks.

Does anybody know of any good clear mascaras that lengthen, curl, separate and give volume to the eyelashes? I bought something by No. 7 and it doesn't really work all that well. It holds for a few seconds and that is it.

has anyone tried the other dior mascara? i think its called ultimeyes. i would love to know how it compares to diorshow.

Does Longs Drugs carry DiorShow? Actually, can I get DiorShow anywhere besides Sephora in the U.S.?

I've heard YSL mascara is the best..seriously considering it!!

I have it, worked fine for a while (nothing amazing), then one day I pull out the brush and it's just a stick, I mean the brush is still there but it's fallen down, oh I don't know have a big enough vocabulary to describe it, the point was that I don't think it's a good mascara. Not even while the brush was alive..

The YSL mascara comes in great colors, has a nice smell, and curls your eyelashes and makes them very long! It does tend to travel to your bottom lids by the end of the day and is a bit goopy, though. I like mine!

i tried the new max factor mascara that theres a big hype about right now. but i'm concerned about the horrid little fibres that so many lengthening mascaras have today. they always seem to get into my eyes and sting like hell. i'm still using a bourjois one right now. not as bad as maybelline xxl but still awful. it's drying out really quickly too and the results weren't even good to start with. i feel like i've tried every mascara...lancome was way too clumpy, clinique barely did anything, estee lauder was so so, as for all the other drug store brands, rubbish! i will never find a good mascara.

DiorShow REALLY maximizes the length of the lashes. My eyelashes almost look fake now with it on.
