The Mascara Thread

Take it back, enrichi, and ask for a refund. If the product does not meet your expectations or the advertising hype, keep them honest by saying thanks, but no thanks. I think we need to do more of that. Citizens, to the barracades! :ninja:
If I can find the receipt, I'm going in!

I was also a bit ticked at the counter-girl. She didn't really seem too on-the-ball. This is my nice way of saying she was dumber than a box of hair. Maybe she was filling in from another area of the store? Whatever. I'm a lean, mean, returnin' machine.

I am now forced to reconsider my habit of keep all receipts for items over $100.00. Maybe I should do a two-week receipt file? What do you guys do? My receipt filing at this point consists of a large pencil case next to my makeup kit.

I definitely keep my receipts, especially when I buy a new product. I have a folder I throw them in.

I've tried lots of mascaras and Lancome Definicils is the only one that absolutely does NOT smudge on me, which is the most important thing in a mascara that I consider.
My eye erea isn't oily, but by the end of the day, mascaras all tend to smudge more or less under my eyes, I can't stand even it's just a tiny little bit.
and believe it or not, I can wear Definicils to bed without looking like a panda in the morning (I tried when I was drunk and stayed over at my friend's  ). that's why I always stick to it. also, this thing never clumps and really lengthening my lashes. if I want fuller lashes, I just apply a few coats more and it gets me there without a problem.

anyway, after hearing all the good things about DiorShow, I do wanna give it a try.
is it totally smudge free? :flower:

Re Dior show - it hasnt smudged on me but it has flaked a little.. :( Lancome Defencils didnt flake on me - hope that helps answer your query :flower:

I tried YSL Mascara Longueur Intense today and it did a lovely job of lengthening and separating my lashes, and plus it smells really nice for some reason (unlike most mascaras whch smell waxy)

Unfortunately this did smudge a little bit at the end of the day, but then again it was a pretty hot (35 degrees C) and humid day so I'll give this mascara another try on a cooler day B)

MissPurple, Shu Mascara basic is totally smudge free, however its more of a natural looking mascara

Hey Girls!

My hairdresser turned me on to a great mascara about a year ago. He heard about it from his partner, who is a make-up artist. It's called Kiss Me Mascara by Isehan Japan. It's a polymer, not a wax, that forms soft little tubes around each eyelash, so there is no clumping, smudging or flaking. Best of all, to remove them, you just wet your lashes and slide them off. No rubbing! It's really fantastic stuff, but it's hard to find. I buy mine at Shiffeon or Suki's, here in Vancouver Canada, but I think it is slowly becoming more widely available. I recommend trying salons and stores that sell professional make-up (ie. theatre and TV make-up). There is also a website that lists retailers.

It's really fantastic stuff! err...I said that already didn't I? Ha!

i have the lancome defencils and really don't like it at all. i should just throw it away, but my pack rat habits wont let me
I bought it too.. it's awful. It clumped really bad for me. I still have it.. I might.. need it.. someday.. right?!!?! :innocent:

My mascara of choice is Avon Astonishing Lengths. It's amazing, IMO. Goes on really smooth, and for the price, you can't help but  it. [/b][/quote]
I like Shu Uemura- makes my lashes loooongg.

But I was so impressed that thesocalledprep mentioned Avon Astonishing lengths!!

I got a tube from my mom who didn't want it- I think its the best mascara I've ever used- no clumping, flaking, smearing- looks fresh forever-

Do I need to get more from an "Avon Lady"?
