The Mascara Thread

I am currently hooked on Fiberwig. It promises that the tiny fibers in the mascara will attach to your lashes, making them longer, and it actually works! I bought this at Sephora and it definitely beat out some of the other mascaras that I've tried such as BadGal Lash, Dior Show, etc....

& if you're looking for mascara on a budget, I recommend Maybelline COLOSSAL Volum' Express Mascara. It thickens lashes very nicely ^_^

I think my next investment will be a mascara from Dior. Right now I just have to finish using my crappy bobbi brown one

i need a new mascara. foolishly deviated away from my faithful masterpiece max factor to a cheap rimmel one (it's the pink bottle). the difference in quality is immense. rimmel is clumpy, runny and the brush is badly shaped. the only bonus is that it doesn't irritate the eyes so much.

I use Maybelline Define-a-Lash. I really like it - it doesn't clump and it's not too expensive and available at most places.

Do you ever find that with mascara that you always apply mascara better on the lashes of one eye than the other?
The lashes of my left eye used to turn out neater than the lashes on my right, but in the past week that has changed...

Well I received my Helena Rubenstien mascara and I have to be honest, it's not much more special than Max Factor! Same brush, same effect, twice the price.

Nice packaging...but unremarkable.

hey guys, could anyone give me advice?

I was wondering if there was a mascara that would only make the lashes blacker and maybe thicker, not all long and curled, and that would low budget but still good. :S

Which one did you get? I've tried all my mum's Max Factor mascaras, and in my opinion they are rubbish. I do have straight Asian lashes though, so I need something that can hold a curl.

When you want a low budget, try the volume glamour by Bourjois... Otherwise I would recomment you the Exceptionelle the Chanel noir obscure, Intense black and only volume.

Coowl you like this so much! Do you have the 'normal' one or the explosion, that's the fast drying texture....?

I just have the regular. I actually had no idea that there was another version, but I should probably look in to that because the only complaint I have about it is that it takes a little while to dry. I will definitely check it out! :D

I got the Lash Queen mascara and it really was no better than max factor masterpiece as far as I was concerned. Compared to my Dior blackout its rotten, and I have very very straight lashes that are impossible to curl.

Lancôme HYPNÔSE is great! it curls thickens n lengthens my lashes! next time ill take a pic. of before and after.

I got it in waterproof, maybe that makes the whole difference. I find that nearly all waterproof mascaras can hold a curl, am I weird?

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I think waterproof dries quicker or something. I hardly even bother curling if I'm using non-waterproof.

Indeed, Waterproof dries quicker AND it's a lighter texture, so not that heavy on the lashes of weight...

I got that new version of Phenomen'eyes that's suppose to not smudge, and it's true it doesn't but I've noticed that the black isn't quite as intense. It isn't gray or anything it's just not as bold, and doesn't seem to get the same length on your lashes. I'm going to keep buying the regular one from now on

This is kind of a mascara question I guess. I haven't read all of the pages in this thread so please forgive me if it's already been covered....
I was at Sephora the other day to get a refill for the little rubber pad thing for my eyelash curler (it's shu uemura, although it looks exactly the same as any other brand!) I was told that they have stopped making these. So like, do they want me to purchase a brand-new eyelash curler? Does anyone know if anyone still makes these little rubber pads? A few years ago I think Revlon or Sally Hansen or one of those drugstore brands sold a package of two refill pads. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
*Also, Shisedo Lasting Lift Mascara is my all-time favourite! It's not the mascara, it's the BRUSH! (soooo thin.....)

For Europe they sell them at Douglas, they have still in collection... But I don't think you get them via the internetshop:cry:... If you like, when I've got them, I will send you:rolleyes:...

And about the brush of Shiseido, did you ever tried the Sculpte Cils de Chanel? That one is also great!!

Diedejan, how awesome are you? :flower: I may just have to take you up on that offer if I am unable to find them around here.
I have not tried the Chanel mascara yet. I think I probably didn't even know it existed. Perhaps I will try that next time.
Thanks!
