The Mascara Thread

Yay! Have you tried the Diorshow Iconic? (and if you have, how do you think it compares?)
Don't mention Diorshow to me! :judge::lol:

Actually I can't remember which I've tried, I think it was just the original Diorshow and then the waterproof version, I was expecting them to be amazing and they both smudged. SO MUCH! I was very disappointed! So I haven't tried any other Diorshow mascaras since, maybe I'm missing out but I was so put off.

^ The Diorshow worked out horribly for me too. Apparently Diorshow Iconic is very different though. But then again... Eyes to Kill has amazing reviews :buzz: I'll try both mascaras out next time I hit the mall and see which one works better for my short lashes!

When you want to have a mascara that WONT smudge, try the Inimitable WP by Chanel...

Someone recommended Eyes to Kill on here and I definitely agree, it replaced YSL Faux Cils as my current favourite.
Oooo.. I love Faux Cils but now I have to go and get Eyes to Kill tomorrow :judge::shock:

^I'm reading the Eyes to Kill reviews on MUA... I am dying for it now, but it's so much $$$$

The only Chanel Mascara I've tried is Exceptionnelle, and it was just ok so maybe I'll try this one but I prefer non-waterproof although I guess if I really want non-smudging... (how the Diorshow waterproof managed to smudge I don't even know!) Lash Queen WP doesn't smudge but it just doesn't look as good as Eyes to Kill.

Well I hope you like it, or I'll feel bad! But all I can say is it works for me!

^Don't worry, it works for 40 other people on makeupalley as well  I just have a question, how much did you get yours for? It's so expensive here so I'm thinking if I should wait till I move to the states

^ I get it for £21 at the Armani counter in Selfridges, that's no so expensive I don't think, or at least it's around the same price as other similar brands here

I love both and think they're pretty equal in terms of all the good stuff like length, volume - though I think I edge Dior Iconic by literally 1% just because it was the first mascara that really made me go :woot: the only problem is that it's a nightmare to remove whereas Eyes to Kill is normal. I'd go for Eyes to Kill for daytime drama and Iconic for evening but the difference is minimal. Neither one will be a waste of money (hopefully)

I have to say MaxFactor False Lash Effect is pretty good!
It gives you a dramatic look.

My mom got me the Chanel Inimitable Mascara... I think its okay, nothing too special!

Please go out and get PhenomenEYE's GIVENCHY
One of the best MAscara's out there, hands down!

Phenomeneyes is really great, that's true, but then I prefer Eye Fly better...

After giving the Chanel Inimitable Mascara a few more goes... I actually really love it now! You just have to know how to apply it right. It doesn't clunk up your eyelashes, and it goes on very easy. Anyone who gets it, just remember to use an eyelash curler beforehand! It really gives me a dolly lash look, so I don't have to bother with fake eyelashes when I go to dinner events :D

I'd like to buy some good new mascara..I used Diorshow but it was just horror to me,no more:shock: I love long curly lashes and I use false eyelashes very often so bigger lashes better...any tips??

I really like Lancome Fatale. The brush is kind of insane to get used to. Once I got it it made my lashes look like they were falsies. But they didn't look over the top or fake.

Hi! Just gonna butt in here and rave a little about Telescopic Explosion from L'Oreal. The brush is a mini-PhenomenEYES and the formula is better than most ds brands...easy to get off, doesn't smudge or flake. The sphere brush makes separation easy. I tried it with Shiseido Lash Base, but it's better on its own - less gunky and easier to remove.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a mascara that doesn't make your eyelashes all stiff and hard? I've tried sooooo many mascara's and can't find one that makes my eyelashes feel soft. I don't need one that promises volume or length, just one that doesn't make my eyelashes feel nasty he he.

You can try the Inimitable mascara by Chanel, that one is soft... Otherwise try Lash Queen Feather Collection by Helena Rubinstein.

And try to use a Lash Serum in the evening on your lashes, just to care
