Marc Jacobs: The basic feeling of his clothes seems to always be the exact same. I simply fail to see anything interesting in his collections, and while they are not always bad I do not understand why his collection is always hailed as the best of NYC fashion week. I'm bored of the "indie-preppy-socialite" clothes he designs and models on his famous friends. As for LV, he has turned the classic LV monogram to something matching the over-exposion of the Burberry check. I see nothing special in this house anymore, all I see is money, not clothes.
John Galliano: I think his designs are gimmicky and trashy. His shows are predictably "shocking" and while they are a show they lack in everything else such as creating beautiful clothes.
Luella Bartley + most of the other "Brit designers" showing at London fashion week: Everyone of these designers seems to be "indie" and "cool", while their collections look like Topshop to me. I just do not see any creativity in most of the London fashion week designers.
Nicolas Ghesquière: Some of his ideas for Balenciaga are ridiculous. His collections are not bad, but not exciting either. I think of him as a try-hard and definetily over-hyped; Time's 100 most influental people list? He gets recognition because of the name of Cristòbal Balenciaga, who in my mind deserves the hype and recognition. I do not see Ghesiquière as inventive, he just follows the footsteps of Balenciaga, and while he sometimes is able to produce good pieces in hin collections, I never see much interpretation or inviduality.
Matthew Williamson: He is a designer who got famous because of the boho trend...he should have gone after that.
Giorgio Armani: I give credit for his old collections, but the new Armani is awful. It does not look classy and is almost always uninteresting; as said, it is as if watching the same collection season after season.
