The New Gothic / Neogoth

Few accessories & trinkets...

ajetcameob1lqv6.jpg

A lovely Victorian jet bracelet with a strange, faux- lava cameo made from celluloid. The little celluloid cameo probably replaced an earlier shell cameo, but its placement here in is somehow strangely striking. The jet is very good quality, highly polished, and nicely faceted. Jet is prized in Victorian mourning jewelry for it's glossy surface, light weight, and soft feeling against the skin.

A beautiful, and unusual gold mourning brooch dating to the 1820s, in amazing condition. Braids of blond hair are set under rock crystal, and surrounded by coral beads. Clasps with a period c-catch. Wears beautifully on a lapel.
* A bit happy goth, that one^ is...

Nineteenth century French jet buttons beautifully set in 18K gold. Lovely deep bezels surround the buttons in a simple, contemporary setting. Dainty and elegant.

1880s Vulcanite Ivy Motif Earrings

An unusual pair of Victorian mourning earrings in vulcanite- an early thermoplastic material derived from rubber. An ivy form hangs over and partially masks the lower pendants, which have a nice sculptured mass, decorated with a Greek key. They wear beautifully.

Forged titanium twist earrings by Paul DeBlassie IV. A nice weighty look with the lightness and strength of titanium. Very nice to wear.

strawberry, who needs the Ann D. boots when you have those, tuff as nails and dangerous...and I might add that your style is to be seriously admired.

I had my period as a kindergoth, so some of the style inspiration still lingers. I love some of the elements from gothic style, the limited colours, fishnets, etc. :ninja:
