la mie...
i think you made awesome choices...
they are all gorgeous...:flower:

and i especially love that you didn't select all black...
the antonio marras and the gaultier are personal faves of mine as well...
the gaultier has a touch of 'gypsy' thrown in for good measure...
which is always great in my book...

beautiful...

Yey, I'm so glad you approve! I think that the non-black looks are some of my favories... though I feel like from what I've seen of your style in "what are you wearing" that I can imagine you working one of those Gaulthier suits B)

I hate to ask this here, but does anyone know where one can even buy marras apart from yoox? I think I've fallen in love... definately one of my favorites for the season.

awww....thx la mie...

i wish i could help with the marras...
but i assume it's sold in paris somewhere...maybe bon marche?...

Question : would you characterise these boots as neo gothic or more "little house on the prairie" ?

^ I'd say you could go either way, depending on what you wear with them. if you wear them with mostly greys, blacks and washed out neutrals, it could fit the new gothic I suppose...

Hanne, I agree with Utopia, really depends on what you'll wear with them... but I feel they would look AWESOME when styled in a neo goth way!!

Thank you ta-ta and Kimkhuu..I'm glad that you guys see them as having neo gothic potential.. I was never all that big on the little house on the prairie look..I just wish they weren't sooo uncomfortable to wear

why are they uncomfortable?...
too high?...

they look amazing on you...
btw hanne-
i saw a character on a tv show wearing your hot mcqueen halter dress...
her character is a sexy witch...;)...
one of my fave looks actually...

^_^

it's not a halterneck dress Softie

The shoes are a tad bit higher than my feet likes them to be, they are narrow (my foot is au naturale wide). But thank you for making me feel better about my wardrobe

really?!?...
but it's so obviously a reference to some form of bondage like an equestrian bridle or halter...
that's what makes it so very very hot!!!...:brows:...

**a lot of what is very hot about anything gothic or new gothic is the subtle undertones of bondage...

all those long straps that dangle...like a whip or even a tail...;)
the high necklines and collars and chokers...
the leather...
the boots...
the gloves...
the belts...
all the different textures are very sensual...
it's all very suggestive....imo...
:innocent:

That phrase reminds me of my gothic literature class. It stressed that defining something as gothic meant that is was exposing something dark underneath what would typically be seen as prim and pristine.

They used the David Lynch film "Blue Velvet" as an initial example. In the opening sequence, the movie takes you to what seems to be a happy go lucky suburban neighborhood, but then pans down to the earth beneath the houses where it's all sludge, worms and grotesque.

"Subtle undertones" and "dark underbelly" were phrases that were used frequently...

hmmm...maybe i would enjoy a gothic literature class then...:D
