The Perfect Tee

C&C - the fit is just perfect and I prefer the thin cotton. Second choice is the Gap favorite tee, but it's a heavier knit, which I don't like as much.

if you're going the cheaper route (under $30), i'd say american apparel or the gap "favorite" tee. my only problem with the gap ones is that they don't come in many colors.

over $30 i'd say splendid hands down...the 1x1 rib modal/cotton blend is super soft, the short sleeves aren't too short, and the body is long so you're back isn't hanging out

where do you get these petit bateau ive never heard of them.

Genera

I have 3 genera long tees and they are very soft and fine. what I really like about them is they don't have any seems on the waist line, sleeves and neck line...:D

if you want cheap-cheap, the old navy tiny fit tees are not bad at all. they're thin, soft and very fitted; plus, they come in a million colors. and you can never go wrong with hanes boys' white tees... they look better with age.

if you want to spend a little more, james perse and the old standby michael stars both make a nice little t-shirt.

James Perse and Michael Stars do make nice t-shirts but you can get the same quality with Old Navy or Hanes, and cheaper.

AMERICAN APPAREL.

Great CUT, great price, and great company.

In my opinion Armani exchange tees are really awesome. I like the ones made of Pima cotton. They are quality, plus the fabric is thin so they are really lightweight and comfortable, and good for hot summer days. :D

My favorite isn't made anymore, but I still have several ... the Patagonia Mobili-T. Organic cotton with Lycra. I tried a Vitali-T, don't like it nearly as well.

not jcrew for tshirts... their beaters are alright. my mom like jcrew for the more comfortable fit and the lack of sheerness, but they don't retain their shape at all... they lose elasticity so quickly. of the "cheaper" lines, i like old navy much better. i haven't had any problems with shape loss and the fit isn't bad at all...

James Perse BY FAR! I hated tshirts until I discovered James Perse

Hi there,

I actually just started a store that will carry a line of tshirts and accessories. I prefer to do my screen printing on American Apparel, Great Republic or Bella because you get very good quality at a reasonable price. AStees and Alternative apparel are good alternatives.

I've got a couple of tees up so far that you can look at to get an idea of how they fit, (they're very comfortable, btw): http://www.venusadonis.com

There are quite a few good brands out there, but it all depends on what you're looking for and how much you're willing to spend.

As long as the tee shirt is not too short on me and if made of a nice thin, soft cotton , I'm happy.

Versus (i'm not sure that counts as affordable or if they still do the line) or Muji

Its the only thing that they seem to do right, but Burton's t-shirts fit me perfectly, I bought 3 plain last year for £4 each, they havn't faded or fallen apart and the fit is better on me than anything else I've ever worn!

Petit Bateau is really a French kid's clothing store, famous for basics like stripey t's. They've expanded their range for grown ups and have become a French staple. They've got stores all over Europe and I think they have online retailers as well. Search them out on Google.

I personally love Uniqlo coz the quality is great but it's dirt cheap! I have at least 10 shirts from there, long and short sleeved. When I have the cash, C&C is great coz the material is really fine and soft and really good for layering.
