Male or female? Location?

If you're in the US, I'd suggest any of the Gap companies for a reasonably priced good basic. American Apparel & Splendid also get rave reviews although I've don't have any personal experience with those brands.

Welcome :flower:

I would try James Perse, Splendid, American Apparel and C&C has some good long-sleeved and short sleeve shirts, too.

Yohji Yamamoto - best quality i've ever seen in a plain t-shirt. Also priced accordingly, running about $180-230.

check any of the stores mentioned above and Zara. I got a white, plain, long sleeved tee on sale for $3.95 CDN!!

I'm so glad someone mentioned Petit Bateau. My ultimate choice for basic tees.

What does it take to make the perfect tee?
I feel that even, at this day and age, no one has really mastered it yet.
Here is what I would like in a tee:
1. Not too boxy, not too tight, NOT fitted at the waist then flared towards the bottom because it accentuates my hips.
2. Super soft, but not too sheer fabric...not too stretch either.
3. A little length, but not mini dress length.
4. Interesting necklines, that don't make me look like I am choking:lol:
5. Anything that will not choke my upper arms...

HELP!

Amen to that!! ^^^

I never, ever found the "perfect" t-shirt! i feel like they always look horrible on me!! I have the same criteria...

so if anybody finds the perfect tee, please let me know!!

Me too!
I don't know where to look. I've searched high- expensive shops and low-target and everywhere in between. If anyone can recommend any tees that are chic and flattering, let us know!

that is the exact list of things i need in a t. and yet i've never found a single one. the best t shirt i've ever had was actually a pajama shirt from target. i found them in a few colors and really cheap ($5 a piece). they were sort-of strechy but got really soft and flimsy with washing. overall good.

i wish clothing companies would get the idea that we don't want skin tight wet plaster for a shirt, or a dress....

I actually found a nice-fitting tee for me at Old Navy.
But guess what, after a few washes it starts to lose its shape.
Oh well.... :ninja:

lostinemotion, those are the exact things that make the perfect tee...^_^
...i agree that American Apparel has great tee shirts, have you looked there yet?

at American Eagle i found this shirt for only $7. it's so soft and long, and it's perfect to me. but I asked if they had more colors (the one i got is like a blueish/gray). and they did but they were like $15 or w/e but they weren't as soft. i was so bummed. but at lease i have one "perfect tee".

American Apperal does it for me. When I go to concerts I always pray that their shirts are from American Apperal and it seems most bands are getting their shirts from there. I love em all...... my favorite one is my Xiu Xiu shirt that fits so well and it's a V neck and its white with pink guns on the side.
