I find comfort in searching for the beauty in abandoned or lonely areas - places other people notice but don't stop to take a second look at.
The second photograph is from a small shop I came across while on vacation that didn't appear to be much from the outside. No one else entered the shop while I was there, and during the rest of my vacation I never saw one customer when I would walk by. As you can see by the photograph, you can't judge by the exterior!
from: sophia I love the lines and geometry of this shot. You showcased the worm's-eye view that we see in big cities which makes us feel small but protected in a unique way. There's a great contrast with the grey clouds against the sharp buildings. It's a very great modern shot!
risska The colors here are amazing, it's like a watercolor painting! The ambiance from this photo radiates and reminds me of those long drives home with beautiful sunsets. The movement on the ground shows that perspective even more, like I'm in the car.
seanutbutter Both shots showcase the wanderlust that all of us have, finding comfort in deserted areas and often finding things other people would have never seen! The first shot was very lonely but at the same time very warm. The second was a great vivid shot of a store which seemed to have some amazing things if only more people knew about it! So inviting.
Traversant You've perfectly captured the light of dusk with the magic of being in a beautiful city like Paris. I like that the lines in the window are still there so there's the gap between you and the outside world, knowing you're safe inside but there are so many opportunities out in the world.
Neddie I loved this explanation because it's so true, seeing your own reflection reminds you of the comforting fact that you're still there and that you have your life ahead of you! The isolation of just the ballerina and the mirror makes for a great shot. It reminds me of those musical boxes and it brings me back to childhood as well.
Inaya It's always a great feeling visiting the grandparents, and the shot of the pug on the chair is so quaint and adorable. The first one struck me as very artistic in that your tattoo represented the little one in the background! The cursive makes it very personal, and from what it looks like it seems that you're in a bed, so the photo evokes a calm, relaxed feel.
This was a VERY hard decision, but the winner is...
