OLSEN WANTS OUT OF FASHION CAREER
Former child star-turned-designer ASHLEY OLSEN is contemplating a return to her acting roots - she wants to walk away from the fashion industry.
The 23 year old and her twin sister Mary-Kate are partners in women's fashion collection The Row.
The former Full House star abandoned her career as an actress to pursue her dream of designing full-time when she took over the reigns while her sister continued to act.
But Ashley admits she sees another career switch in the future - and hasn't ruled out returning to her acting roots.
She says, "(In the fashion world) everyone is just really looking out for themselves. I don't know if I'll be designing this collection forever. A couple of years from now, I'm sure I'll want to do something else, and I'm not going to shy away from that. What if I just want to be an artist, or if I want to go back to acting? Which is not in the cards, but what if I wanted to do that?"

^typical tabloid thing. Use a misleading title to make people read the rest... :innocent:

Isn't that a quote from her Marie Claire interview? Sounds more like she's trying to keep her options open (duh!) then "give up her fashion career"
I also noticed that in her Marie Claire pictures one of the dresses she was wearing was from "The Row - her personal collection".

^Yep, that's from her MC interview...

I saw that too! The Row - Personal archive or something...

the new long sleeve scoop tee is great. the longer sleeve makes it another classic staple, love it!

jemappelleamy, thanks for the article.

and if it is, in fact, a true article, it disappoints me.

if i recall (i forgot where), i read an article online from a known source stating that Mary-Kate said something about how Ashley is so passionate about The Row that "she'd sell it from the trunk of her car" (something around those lines). well, if i say so myself, obviously she wasn't/isn't passionate about her brand if she already wants to end it! and trust me, i love The Row (i own three tees) and the Olsens, but i find that what Ashley said annoys me...just because the fashion industry doesn't treat others right doesn't mean that someone can't still love it! if she did love and cared for her brand, she would never say that.

does that make any sense? anyone agree with me?
but hopefully she won't leave her brand, they've done such a great job with it!

that tabloid stuff is false.

ashley is still aligning herself as a fashion designer and not a celebrity. shes supporting the fashion night out and shes appearing on much music to promote it. The much music appearance is questionable but anna was just at letterman.

for anybody who is remotely familiar to ashley's upcoming project will know that it doesnt make sense with what that tabloid is claiming.

isnt she part of CFDA as well?

^ I agree and have nothing to add to what you said emailme  ;)

The only thing I'd have to say is, if my memory serves me right, they'll talk about E&J on Much Music, and not The Row. They'll probably mention it, but I'm pretty sure they'll focus on E&J. That'd make more "sense" anyway, regarding MoD's audience -- young people, right? They seem to have a different media plan with E&J than with The Row, which, imo, is a bit more exclusive.
Many young celebs were seen wearing E&J at events and in their "daily life" -- Hayden Pannetiere, Lauren Conrad, Rihanna, just to name a few. Their E&J shoes will be featured twice (and maybe more since they didn't stop filming yet) in the next season of Gossip Girl.
The Row seems to appeal to the more "mature" celebrity crowd. Katie Holmes, Kelly Ripa and Heidi Klum are fans of the line...

the statement of leaving fashion for something else has never been said that way or in that sense... it's part of the marie claire intereview where ashley reafirms her love for fashion while at the same time leaves other doors opened in other fields for the future but never mentioning she's going to abandon fashion anytime soon.

As if Ashley would quit fashion after just getting herself established in the industry?

She has always been passionate about fashion and i can't see her giving up designing anytime soon :)
