The Row - The All-Things The Row Thread

I was also surprised the Row is stocked on Shop Zoe....I wonder if now that the economy has plunged they are wanting to just more buyers...?

Barneys has a lot of new pieces in stock, including the leather leggings in different skins and colors. Some great dresses and jackets too.

le bon marché has quite a selection but dont be too fooled as many pieces are from previous collections which just never go on sale ...

Barneys in Chicago had 3 racks of The Row! It was great to check things out in person. There is so much I want! Blake only had a few pieces. I tried on quite a few pieces- it's very difficult to decide what to buy.

size

Have you ever tried the stratton pant in S, it doesn't fit good..
is there a large difference between the size P and S? In Paris the smallest size you can have is S...

Hey, did you try them on at Le Bon Marche? I wasn't sure what they'd look like on but I liked them on the hanger but they just were just odd on. Like you I tried on the S - they were too big in the waist and hips and strange everywhere else... and yes, they never seem to have smaller than an S in the pants...

2000 Euros for the leather leggings? hmmmm... well i like the camel ones, the cognac ones are such a wrong colour imo

A bargain when compared to other pieces in the line :innocent: I just saw what amounts to a t-shirt for just under $600. The leather jacket it was shown with seemed like a steal by comparison at $1100 ...

yes I tried them at le bon marché. Maria Luisa doesn't have anything from the row.
Do you know if they are going to do the new collection of this year?

If you are refering to the cropped blue leather jacket in the Barneys catalog, the $1100 price is a misprint. *sob* I called in a panic to order it and was told the actual price is $2750. I knew it was too good to be true!

okay, you could argue that it doesn't have a lot to do with her tee's and leather leggings, but i feel that (despite what they were mentioning) part of the reason why the row is selling has got to do with the fact that the olsons are known for a specific personal style that they eather sport with their own designs or designers/vintage finds they are taking inspiration from (kate moss is doing similarily with her topshop line).

nothing wrong at this as such, but i think this whole 'super laid-back off-duty celebrity' style is starting to look a little bit contrived to me. it's pityful that people see these images and find it aspirable to imitate a way of dressing that is almost just as much dressed as wearing you pyjamas on the street.

no actually the idea behind the brand was finding the perfect tee. It was an idea of using luxury fabrics and techniques to create quality closet staples.

in regards to your theory of people's buying motive as the brand being made by the olsen i have to say that yes, there are people buying the row because its by the olsen. At the same time ashley has stated that her target demographic are those who seek quality basics hence the craftmanship and price point to back up her intentions.

as for the super laid back off duty celebrity comment its a trend and its expected for people to get tired of it once "everybody" starts wearing it. The great thing about The Row though is that its so versatile it can surpass a trend and move on with the next thing. So whether its pajama-chic or sailor-chic people will still buy the clothes because theyre timeless.

perfectly said! i completely agree!
i agree with the above one hundred percent.
as much as some people like to buy "celebrity" brands, there are also people who are looking for exceptional quality and quality of Row is exceptional.

i've never gotten so much wear out of a single item as much as i got from Row pants.

The prices have been upgraded at Le bon marché, Paris..two weeks ago the price of the kaki tee was 182 euros today it is 224 euros..do you think we should ask and try to get reduction?

even one of the dree was 530 first and goes to 650 euros..
it is crazy!!

I'm going to New York next week! Besides Barneys and Bergdorfs is there anyplace else I can find The Row?

oh! and I caved and bought the navy leather jacket (full price !) I couldn't stand the thought of missing out on it!
